Oh dear. Poor Mitt is having a very bad day:
In a statement first given to Fortune, Leder says: “I hosted a fundraiser for an old friend in May. I believe all Americans should have the opportunity to succeed, to improve their lives, and to build even better lives for their children. I have supported people from both political parties who share this view and make it a priority, even though their ideas on how to achieve it may differ.”
I believe that is a "more elegant" phrasing, by the way.

UPDATE: And Leder's not the only one jumping ship:
Republican U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon was quick to denounce Mitt Romney’s secretly videotaped remarks to donors about the “47 percent” of the U.S. electorate who support President Obama and believe they are entitled to government handouts.
“I disagree with Governor Romney’s insinuation that 47% of Americans believe they are victims who must depend on the government for their care. I know that the vast majority of those who rely on government are not in that situation because they want to be. People today are struggling because the government has failed to keep America competitive, failed to support job creators, and failed to get our economy back on track,” McMahon said in a statement posted on her website this morning.

Linda McMahon demonstrates how skilled she is at finessing the same old crap. Sounds fairly civil until you run it through your GOP decoder ring:
'...Failed to Keep America Competitive' A call for education and infrastructure, you say? More likely a shot at unions and the minimum wage.
'...Failed to support Job Creators' Once again, lower taxes for millionaires, who will virtually sweat jobs from their very pores if given the least bit of encouragement.
'..failed to get our economy back on track' Ah, more deregulation and the repeal of the ACA.
Even Bush memorized enough code words to avoid this kind of trouble (mostly). Can you imagine the size of the lump under Mitt's coat when we hit the debates?
