Should probably get one of these things up (that's what she said). Put up a new comic last week and we've got a new comic this week. Both Mass Effect related!

As much as EA is an albatross for this series I do love Mass Effect. Playing through ME3 right now and for the most part positive. Keeping multiplayer "Galactic Readiness" is a bit tedious (OCD demands 100%!) but it's enjoyable. I hate losing war assets due to not having bought some DLC, and having some choices REALLY matter while others don't is annoying. BUT. I love the characters, the writing, and the combat is tight. About half way through so I haven't gotten to the infamous bad ending yet. Maybe if I take long enough they'll have a new ending out before I complete it.

One thing I miss that I removed from the site is the featured comic. What I planned on doing instead is talking about it in a news post. THEN I NEVER DID. EVER. Lets fix that. The first round are a few shows I love watching while I get comics done. Basically all the guys over at Normal Boots. Continue and JonTron being my personal favorites. All different takes on reviewing new and old games, all highly entertaining. If you've got some time to kill do check them out.

Whoops! Almost forgot to do a newpost this week. Had another comic up this past Monday. That's three Mondays in a row! Will I make it four? Probably not! Scrapped one I was working on and haven't had much time to devote to drawing this week. So we'll see.

Anyway, I was going to talk about Mass Effect 3 and it's issues with their DLC and ending. As well their lack of response regarding it but, as of Wednesday we have a response. Granted this is only about the ending and doesn't address anything else but hey, it's something. This is a bit silly though.

Now on a personal note (two personal notes). Friend of mine Mike Moore (and Caldwell) is working on agame, Prof. Cat's Mazing Machine, and he's got a kickstarter going over here. Lots of different tiers for contribution. So if puzzle games interest you, check it out. As well I did the forward to Fred's book Sure to be Ban'd Year One. It's a first year compilation of his comic over here.

New Comic! On a Monday?! AGAIN?! Someone call hell and see if they've frozen over. Then Gabe to see if Half-life episode 3 is out. Then hell again to see if it exits. I sure hope it doesn't.

New Comic! Started working on it just after the last one... two weeks agoish? Wish I'd gotten it out a bit sooner (as to be a bit more relevant) but I'm happy with how it turned out.

So about The Tester, I guess it's in it's third season now which is a shock to me. Available exclusive to PSN. Because you know, everyone is dying to licence this stellar program. Egoraptor is really the only reason to watch any of it but even he can't save this train wreck. Truth be told I only skimmed through an episode. I don't think I could make it through the whole thing. This show is a fucking endurance match. It's like you've had the 5 alarm chili, and you're gripped on the edge of the toilet just WAITING for death's sweet release.

TLDR? Go watch Egoraptor's cartoons instead.

Put up a new comic a few days ago. Was drawing this before the Mass Effect 3 demo came out so I messed up on the Krogan female a bit. SPEAKING OF WHICH. The Mass Effect 3 demo is out on Xbox, PS3, and PC and it's quite fun. The demo covers two single player levels and some basic online multiplayer.

For the single player nothing really changed from the last game, it's just been added to. We've got a new melee feature which is a welcome addition. As well you can check out the tweeked engineer class. Fighting using turrets and drones is great when you're a shitty shot like me. The two single player levels are the intro and rescue mission with your old teammates from the previous games (if they're still alive). Not too long, not too short, and gives you a nice feel for the game.

The multiplayer was surprisingly fun. When I first heard about it I was skeptical but it's won me over. The mode we have in the demo is a co-op horde mode with occasional objectives. I don't think I'll be straying far from this when the game comes out. I just can't do competitive these days. In all I can't wait to play the full game

Did someone say new comic? YUUUUUP. I really can't wait until the newborn phase gets a regular sleep pattern. Got time to work on these in between shifts so each of us can sleep. Little hour to two hour spurts days apart. ALAS, first world problems.

Omahdon's got a new audio adaptation. I love this way more than I should. I'm not saying erection but there's a tingle.



I really do need to spend some time and play games though. If he's passed out on me I'll play some Saints Row 3 just because it's so easy to get into and stop. Far from a deep game but that's honestly not a bad thing. It's nice to have an over the top, arcade, fun for all to play if that's all you've got time for. Would I say buy it? Yeah sure, it's short but it's quite fun.

Quite a few games I have but haven't really touched yet. Dark Souls, Dynasty Gundam 3, Skyward Sword. I made the mistake of registering Knights of the Old Republic. That free month went by without so much as a force push.

One game I'm REALLY looking forward to and hope it sees a North America launch is A Dynasty Warriors One Piece game. The first trailer is here, the second one (and MUCH better) is here.

From what I've read and seen it'll be covering all the events from the first chapter to New World. As well ALL the current crew will be playable. One Piece works so well in a Dynasty Warriors format it's criminal. It's had a few games on Wii that were flashy to watch but pretty boring to play. This new one for PS3 looks like a welcome turn around. It just better have Big Emperor.

Holy carp and trout! I haven't made a news post in a while. Had a new comic up before christmas and then promptly got very busy being a new dad! It's just been a mad house of poop and urine ever since. Oh and the sleep deprivation. OH THE SLEEP DEPRIVATION. You always hear it's a bit of a life changer but it never really sinks in until it happens. Still, couldn't be happier.

Had the site blacked out (like there was a difference lolol) in opposition to SOPA/PIPA the other day. Bills like this are nothing new and we will continue seeing them in the future. It is however important to address them in all cases. Especially this one as it's particularly nasty.

I think my biggest problem with this bill is it'll ultimately boil down to more censorship. Just yesterday we saw MegaUpload (video, etc..) got shut down. They already have the means to go after people. SOPA/PIPA is giving more power to a system that already has too much.

So if you have a moment I do ask you to write in and voice your opposition. On a gaming note there's a SOPA related E3 boycot a brewing which is worth a gander.

New Super Effective!? It seems like months! Probably because it has been. I tell ya, this past little while has been just exhausting. I'll get to recent events in a bit. Right now I've got some really exciting news. We've got books!!! That's three exclimation points. You know this shit just got real.

At long last I'm putting out my first two books. They're avalible for preorder (shipping on Dec 6th) at the moment but, I highly suggest gettig it now if you want it in time for Christmas. First come first serve so to speak.

As you can see we have both paperback and hardcover for VG Cats. The hardcover will be a one time printing. So once it's gone it's gone for good. Super Effective didn't make sense for a hardcover so it'll just be paperback.

Believe me though, these books look faaaantastic. I just got my advance copies the other day and I am SO happy with how they turned out. It's great to see Super Effective in large high-res glory. VG Cats is packed full of comics in a really nice manga travel-style size. Both books are printed on slick and glossy paper that gives me the weirdest boner. There's nothing I'd change.

Now on to the past month or so.

Cat almost died. Got pretty sick and is doing better now but for a while it was pretty iffy. During that the basement flooded. Did I mention my computer was down there? The one I use to make comics. After cleaning up that mess the plumbers tore the place up to fix the problem. Dust, mud, and sludge everywhere. I'm STILL cleaning it up. In the process I became asthmatic. I've always been allergic to dust and mold but this recent incident pushed me over. For a good week I was having SERIOUS problems breathing. Got a puffer, doing WAY better. So, I am sorry there haven't been comics. It's a matter of not having time, not playing games, and just mentally not there for making with the funny.

As well the medical bills for our cat have been a bit extreme. I've been doing commissions when I can to help pay down the costs. I'll probably put a call out on here when I have time to take more on. For now I just wanted to let you know I hadn't forgotten about the comics and you. This whole year has just been a bit hellish (funerals, car accident, hospitals) and I'm trying the best I can. So thank you for bearing with me.
