1UP At Nintendo World 2011: Check Out Videos And Impressions Here

We attend Nintendo's 3DS-specific event, and have loads of videos and impressions to share.

The usually secretive and elusive (at least when it comes to upcoming hardware) Nintendo has finally opened the 3DS to public scrutiny. Previously only shown at trade shows or press conferences, Nintendo is putting the 3DS on full display during Nintendo World 2011 in Japan this weekend, and here's our compilation of Nintendo World coverage. Start with our quick summary of the event here, and keep an eye out for updates and impressions as they come: like this previewKid Icarus: Uprising, or this hands-on of Resident Evil: Revelations.

In the meantime, check out our videos of Nintendo World 2011 so far; here's the line just to get in:

Here's a quick walk-around of the show floor:

Check out this snippet of Kid Icarus: Uprising gameplay narrated by Kirby and Smash Brothers guru Masahiro Sakurai:

Some more Kid Icarus: Uprising footage:

And our last bit of Kid Icarus: Uprising footage -- this time against a boss:

We also found some off-screen footage of the 3D Layton installment: Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle:

And here's some off-screen footage of the 3D remake of the classic Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time:

And here you can check out some examples of the 3D view in Street Fighter IV for the 3DS:

Next up is the trailer for Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D:

And gameplay from Resident Evil: Revelations:

And finally, some footage from one of these upcoming Resident Evil games (we're assuming Mercenaries, not Revelations):

I am still worried about how the 3D will be implemented in certain games, but I still can't wait for this thing...

Can't wait to see how SSF4:3D is coming together. When I get my 3DS at launch it will hopefully be alongside that game (wuz excitedto hear that it's one of the eight games to be released at launch with the system in Japan), even if it does end up carrying a $60 (to $80?) price tag. Gotta pay up for Nintendo's innovation with handhelds. I love my PSP and everything, but I have a good feeling about this 3DS, think the thing is going to blow up bigtime.

Sit in line for hours, blairing megaphones, delousing chambers, after pictures from the "Happy Citizen 3DS Reeducation Program", and a glimpse of a handful of games.

Looks like a charming little event.
