Spoilers follow for The Walking Dead: Season 2 finale.
The the role of Michonne, a fan-favorite character from the Robert Kirkman comic book series source material, has been cast for The Walking Dead: Season 3 on AMC.
In Walking Dead's Season 2 finale, "Beside the Dying Fire," we were given a quick look at the character, although her face was completely hidden under a big hood. But everything else from the comics was there; the sword she used to save Andrea, the two chained up zombies used as zombie repellant. And when Michonne pulls down her hood next fall you're going to see her played by actress Danai Gurira. Gurira notable credits include the Richard Jenkins film The Visitor, and her ongoing role as Jill on HBO's Treme.
