CloudMine helps app developers on the back end

In a blog I did last Wednesday about the three companies selected to be the first occupants of the Project Liberty Digital Incubator, I said I would do a follow-up on one of them Thursday.
Better late than never.
The company is CloudMine, and it enables mobile app developers to just worry about the parts of their apps that users come in contact with by providing them with a platform for the back ends of the apps, which connect the apps with whatever servers they need to be connected to.
“ You don’t need to worry about anything but making that app compelling from a user-experience point of view,” said Marc Weil, whom I met, along with the company’s other founders, Brendan McCorkle and Ilya Braude, at DreamIt Ventures’ Demo Day last month.

Young entrepreneurs offer peek into tech’s future

From a robot that scours the Internet translating its more esoteric gibberish into digestible narratives for consumers, to a telemedicine startup helping people with mental health problems in rural areas, student entrepreneurs at this week’s DEMO conference in San Francisco gave the audience a mind-bending peek into the future of enterprise technology.
Hailing from the most prestigious corners of the academic landscape, three student teams had been chosen from 50 applicants, each getting six minutes to wow the tech insiders, angel investors and venture capitalists on hand Thursday for DEMO Enterprise Disruption: An Evening of Change & Innovation.
