GTL NFL Picks 2011 GTL’s NFL Picks Week 17, 2011 (Regular Season Finale)So, here we go again… no more regular season NFL for 2011 and it’s onto the playoffs. Darn. Now I wonder if I was right to oppose the 18 game regular season the owners wanted during the lockout. The playoffs are exciting of course, but they also signal the end of the football season, which I frankly do find at least slightly depressing.

Oh well, many of these games can and should be viewed as playoff games (or “play-IN” games anyway); particularly the Giants versus the Cowboys game. Winner takes the division and the loser watches the wild card round on television. Sounds like a great time for a shootout, doesn’t it? It won’t be. It’ll be a yawner.

Look for upsets – both straight up (head-to-head) AND against the spread (ATS). It happened last week and it’ll happen again. Just wait and see.

Anyhoo… here we go again… let’s play some more of that NFL Fooseball!!!

GTL NFL Picks 2011 GTL’s NFL Picks Week 15, 2011Trying something a bit different this week — instead of picking the Thursday Night Football game then adding it to the full week’s schedule on Fridays, I’m going to go ahead and make them ALL right here, right now. We’ll see if that’s a mistake or not soon enough I suppose.

Tebow did it again, didn’t he? I love this guy but I don’t think he’ll be celebrating a victory over the much more talented New England Pats at home this weekend. On the other hand, I expect it to be VERY close and I do expect the Tebow Express to cover the underdog spread (for those of y’all who might gamble). I’d love the head to head upset though… this guy is simply genuine, a heck of a role model for those who look up to players for those versus their own parents and he’s by far the player to make the biggest impact on the game on the AFC side of the NFL. Pro Bowler? Why not? Isn’t that supposed to be the most impactful player in each conference at each position who gets to go to Hawaii? If so, HE’S IT. PERIOD.

That’s enough… let’s kick off this NFL Week Fifteen right now!

GTL NFL Picks 2011 GTL’s NFL Picks Week 14, 2011Am I the only one feeling it? Yannow, FOOTBALL WITHDRAWAL SYNDROME beginning to kick in! Man, I know we’ve still got college bowl games, the BOGUS BCS Title game between a conference winner facing another team who couldn’t even win its division in that same conference (a college football playoff, anybody???). We’ve also got the NFL AFC, NFC, Divisional, Wildcard, etc., playoffs approaching too. Lots of football left to be played but just not a lot of time before we have no college OR pro to watch… depression is setting in.

Been pretty hot this year against the spread. So hot, in fact, I’ve had a couple of handicappers, books & oddsmakers tell me they’ve never seen anybody hover in the high 50′s percentage-wise on ALL scheduled (since Week 4) games. So-called “LOCKS”? Not quite so “LOCKY” yet but hey, I’ve got another 6 of them this week, so wish me luck since I really DO bet every single one of those at the minimums (yeah, fixed income… yannow how that goes) just to make them interesting and to not feel like a hypocrite as well.

How about Tebow? SHEESH. Super-human. Count me in as another T-Boid (or whatever you’d call us). Ain’t seen anybody since Joe Montana or Wayne Gretzky who can get their entire team behind them as “believers”. Let’s see if this “Tebow Magic” stuff keeps up, shall we?

That’s enough… let’s kick off this NFL Week Fourteen right now!

GTL’s NFL Picks – Week 14, 2011 (Thursday Night Game)

TNFLogo GTL’s NFL Picks – Week 14, 2011 (Thursday Night Game)Well, here we are again — NFL Football time but this one’s gonna be a real yawner. Expect the Steelers to dominate the time of possession and the game in general. One bright spot (for me anyhoo) is this’ll be the first time this year I’ll be able to take a look at Browns QB, Colt McCoy and make some sort of an evaluation of his NFL potential.

Weather won’t be a factor, as it is expected to be cold but no precipitation, nor are there any MAJOR injuries on either side. Again, look for this one to be a blowout.
