Thank you and stuff

Wow! What a great week I had. My Etsy Shop is doing well. Thanks to all the wonderful folks who've purchased art. I'm very close to getting that CATscan bill payed. I've been searching for more artwork to sell and will update the shop soon. Here are a few little "Thank you drawings" I included in the packages to the folks who bought art.




Another cool thing happened on Friday. Animation mustached-Guru Jorge R. Gutierrez came to the art museum here in Kansas City and talked about his life in animation. It was a truly a funny/interesting/inspiring experience. Everyone should hear his story. It will change your life. I know I just used the word inspiring but I haven't felt this inspired in a looooooong time. It's made me want to get into animation again. I'm sick of working these non-art jobs. Frankly, I suck at them. The only thing I'm good at is drawing. I really want to get serious about this thing. Can a person like me who went to school for illustration still become an animator or character designer? I think I have the goods but not the schooling.

Thanks for reading. I'll have some more art to post real soon. I love art process posts and feel the need to do one of those again. Oh yeah, and my b-day was yesterday. I'm getting soooo old. Blaaaaargarg!

Brain (F)art

Hi folks! It's been a while since I've updated. Earlier this year I got quite ill and at one point the doctors thought something seriously was wrong with me. I ended up having to get a CatScan. Luckily things turned out ok and I'm feeling much better thanks to medicine. I even made a comic about my whole CatScan ordeal:


*The CatScan was really expensive so I decided to start an Etsy Shop to pay for it. All the money I make is going straight to the hospital bill. If you like my artwork please please please buy something. I'll add more stuff to the shop this weekend. A special thanks to the folks who've already bought art.

I don't know why it's taken me so long to see My Neighbor Totoro, but I finally saw it and LOVED IT! Where has this movie been all my life? Here is a silly CatBus doodle of my dog and I.

Ghost World, Amy, and spacey girls.

I'm sure many of you have read Ghost World or seen the movie. This was my take on the movie version of Enid and Rebecca.

Here's a little bit of my process. There were many more re-drawings but I couldn't find all them.



This portrait is near and dear to my heart. My lovely friend Amy who I use to babysit loooong ago, was married this fall. (She's also an artist/crafter.) I did two illustrations of her. One with her husband Adam and the other of her sewing her pretty bow designs. I totally forgot to scan these before I left for the wedding, but she was kind enough to take some photos. *Thanks Amy.

I'll be posting more new stuff in a few days. I have some drawings I want to sell via etsy. Most of them are fairly small so they won't be super expensive.

Hi folks! I Thought I'd post a few sketchbook pages. These are all mindless doodles I do to get my brain and drawing hand working.






I'll make a proper post soon on what I've been up to since my last post. Also, I finally got a new computer. YAY! My old one was in bad shape. Most websites and blogs wouldn't work on it and it was constantly shutting down.
