This is quite interesting: A Canadian writer on terrorism has been named by a news service as a terrorist-in-training. If you read the story, it's not an innocent mistake: it seems to be part of a deliberate piece of nonsense. See Terroristes parmi nous..., via Dr Dawg's Blawg.

And the reason it's important is that a whole list of newspapers went and stupidly copied the story. You can practically see this rubbish going through the arteries, to the veins, and on into the multitudinous capillaries...and then you wonder why people have stubborn, stupid beliefs.
