Finally it comes to an end - Rising Hegemon
by Attaturk at 03 Jan 2012 09:30
Today is the day all these months of suffering will come to an end for us Iowans. It's bad enough we cannot escape their television commercials but Mitt Romney has even invaded Hulu

Nobody Understands Dumb, or, Krugman's Heresies - Whiskey Fire
by Thers at 03 Jan 2012 07:44
Why is Paul Krugman the KRUGMANATOR? He's not even that far to the left, frankly. Keynes was not, as it happens, a socialist
ABSOLUTE CONFIRMATION - RADAMISTO
by Steve J. at 03 Jan 2012 07:09
I noted before that GOP pundit Mary Matalin thinks the American people are fed up with wars and tonight I heard the greatest War Whore, Laura Ingraham, admit the same thing.   This can only be more bad news for Santorum
Blogger Ethics Panel - First Draft
by Athenae at 03 Jan 2012 07:04
"We found it on The YouTube" turns out to be not perhaps the world's best attribution. I've said for a long time that bloggers have been, by and large, better about this stuff than the "professional" journalists who spend all

THE OTHER BIRTHER WACKOS - RADAMISTO
by Steve J. at 03 Jan 2012 05:12
The Duggars and Rick Santorum have a morbid fascination with dead fetuses.  The Duggars posted pictures of their miscarriage on the Internet, including this one:Back in 1996, the Santorums did something even stranger:The childbirth in 1996 was a source of terrible heartbreak — the couple were told by doctors early in the pregnancy that the baby Karen was carrying had a fatal defect and would survive only for a short time outside the womb

She laid on some truth about Iowa:“The rap on Iowa,” she said. “It doesn’t represent the rest of the country… too white, too evangelical, too rural
ANOTHER CONSERVATIVE FAIL - RADAMISTO
by Steve J. at 03 Jan 2012 03:27
You may recall that back in 2009, the American Seniors Association was supposed to be the conservative alternative to AARP.   This didn't work out very well so the wingnuts are trying again with the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC)

That Which Isn’t Flint Is Tinder - hecatedemeter
by Hecate Demeter at 02 Jan 2012 21:49
If the landscape reveals one certainty, it is that the extravagant gesture is the very stuff of creation.  After the one extravagant gesture of creation in the first place, the universe has continued to deal exclusively in extravagances, flinging intricacies and colossi down aeons of emptiness, heaping profusion on profligacies with ever-fresh vigor
Ron Paul did not Disvow - Rising Hegemon
by DeDurkheim at 02 Jan 2012 21:27
Fifteen years ago Ron Paul did not disvow his newsletters… anyone surprised?  Anyone?  Perhaps that is the reason that few followers show up at his events for the Iowa caucus.  In fact, there are more media at his campaign stops then actual supporters

Look who has joined the Twitterati:  Yes, and he has a lovely phone manner. The thing that is telling is that everything that comes out of Santorum's mouth, including the "and" and "the" is full-on nutter
More Freedom, More Listeria - Whiskey Fire
by Thers at 02 Jan 2012 07:14
If we have learned nothing from the GOP primaries, and who could argue otherwise, we have learned that the reason the economy sucks is that Job Creators are Shackled by Government Regulation. If we could only end Government Regulation, Job Creators would be Free at Last, Sweet Lord, Free at Last, and they would Job Create, and Santa would pop down all our chimneys to give us stock options, plum pudding, low-deductible health insurance, & thoroughly memorable oral sex
