Civilization V PC Update Notes
- BERJAYA 0 Comments

MULTIPLAYER

  • Significant improvements to general multiplayer stability.
  • Significant improvements to Hot-Join stability.
  • Multiplayer now using the same AI move caching as single player, improving turn-times significantly.
  • Lobby improvements: We now display game details in the lobby list (players in each game, map size, map type, DLC required, etc.).
  • Host can now kick players from the staging room when loading a save (if a player cannot return to a game, the game can now be continued by the rest of the players).
  • Found and corrected additional causes of Out-of-Sync.
  • Exploit: Corrected an exploit that allowed players on the same team to trade cities back and forth to auto-heal it.
  • Exploit: Corrected an exploit that allowed players on the same team to trade cities back and forth to generate endless City Strikes.
  • Exploit: Corrected an exploit that allowed a player to “lag” the UI to gain multiple free techs.

UI

  • Change “Load Game” save sorting to be “Last Modified” by default.

BUGS

  • When scrapping a unit, make sure any “cargo” units are scrapped as well.
  • When a unit is destroyed that is carrying another unit, make sure to kill both (missiles sometimes lingered).
  • Corrected a bug that was causing eliminated Civ’s to not generate notifications correctly.
  • Changed notification language for when a Research or Trade deal is cancelled due to the AI running out of funds to pay for it (per-turn deal), or are eliminated. It was currently displaying a “because of war” notification which is incorrect.
  • Corrected an issue that could cause unhappiness from city count and number of specialists to become incorrect over the course of a long game.
  • Changed Frigate obsolete tech to Combustion.
  • Fixed Korean science building exploit.
  • Fixed a problem with City Strike that gave the user the impression that they could not end their turn, when in reality, city strike was still active.
  • Crash: Fixed a crash that could occur in hot-seat when exiting to the main menu.
  • Crash: Fixed a crash that could occur when a unit was eliminated by standing too close to a Citadel.

Dead Island 50% Off @ Steam
- BERJAYA 0 Comments
A decent deal on Dead Island today over on Steam. The game is 50% off right now, bringing the price down to $24.99 USD. Which reminds me, I still have to finish the game. There's nothing like clubbing zombies to death. Hrm, they're already dead. So there's nothing like clubbing zombies even deader!

Dungeon Defenders Quest for the Lost Eternia Shards: Part 1 is now available on Steam, and will hit XBLA and PSN on December 21st. This first part in a series of DLC is $3.99 USD, and it will allow players to take their first look outside of the castle and into the rest of the Dungeon Defenders universe. Each quest will take players through an entirely new campaign map, a new PvP map, and a new challenge mission with new story cinematics, enemies, 10 all new weapons, a new pet, a new boss, and more. When gamers complete the quest, even more secrets may await. The 10 new weapons and pet will be patched into the Console version in the first patch early next year.

The Morning Juberish
- BERJAYA 28 Comments
Good lawd, would you believe it if I said I was sick again? I actually had two healthy days in between colds. You'd think I was a school teacher or something. I've made a list of things that strengthen the immune system. Now all I need is someone to fetch the shit and serve it up to me. I wonder if Booster Juice delivers. I'm single-handedly keeping Dristan in business.

I got an email last week from StormPowered digital distribution. I had never heard of it before. StormPowered, SteamPowered, WTFPowered. Colour me temporarily confuzzled. But the scariest thing was their landing page... before you click on the link (assuming you might be planning to click on the link) let me warn you that it's creepy and in your face, so try not be too sceered. ;) Here is the linkage.

What did you play over the weekend?

A little blast from the past.

EA's Need For Speed World - $100 For A Virtual Car
- BERJAYA 33 Comments
EA's free-to-play MMO racer, Need For Speed World, has added a rather remarkable slice of buyable DLC to its catalogue - a virtual car (the Koenigsegg CCX Elite Edition) that can be yours for the small token of $100 (although it's currently available for the cut-price bargain of $75).

I once saw a car in Trackmania 2 comprised of a semi-naked chick with bunny ears. She was distressingly contorted and doubled-over backwards above the three wheels upon which she zipped madly around those canyons. I think it's the only in-game vehicle I've encountered that I would possibly pay real-life money for (not that you need to in Trackmania), but I'm the stingiest person alive when it comes to DLC. Would you ever pay $100 for some pixels and in-game presets? Do you know anyone who would? What's happening?

Skyrim Online - An MMO Mod With Semi-Naked Ambition
- BERJAYA 21 Comments
A new mod being developed for Skyrim, entitled Skyrim Online, is attempting to create an MMO-experience within the hitherto strictly single-player game.

The mod is currently in the alpha stage; you can see other players and you can talk to them too, but at the moment they appear in your game as near-naked player models with rigor mortis floating around in thin air.

Lego Lord Of The Rings The Game... Mayhaps
- BERJAYA 5 Comments
Those of you who've been keeping a keen eye on the Lego website may have noticed an entirely new section springing up out of our dreams: Lego Lord of the Rings.

The new site has lead to a lot of people supposing that a Lego LOTR video game is on the cards, which seems like pretty reasonable supposing to me. The site says that Lego LOTR, and all that may come with it, will be arriving in Summer 2012. Lego Frodo certainly looks pretty serious about it.

Fuzzy Bear Ursa Now Available For Play In The Dota 2 Beta
- BERJAYA 3 Comments
BERJAYA

Let me tell you, Dota 2's newest hero Ursa is a real beast. I've had a couple opportunities to play as the fuzzy bear, and one to go against him, and it was clear in all that Ursa has the ability to crank out bursts of melee damage like no other. Not only that, but he can also take out Roshan (Kongor in HoN, Baron Nashor in LoL) solo at level 8 or 9 without breaking a sweat.

All Dota 2 beta participants can play as him now, following the slightly delayed patch which hit last night. The patch also added the ability to customize your own "Suggested Items" which also saves to the Steam Cloud. For the rest of the changes hit up the change log.

Even Total Biscuit Has Great Concerns About The SOPA
- BERJAYA 19 Comments
Were you aware that John "TotalBiscuit" Bain aka the Cynical Brit is a UK Law Graduate? He might not live in America, but that doesn't stop him from having serious concerns about the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) that a number of corporations are trying to get passed through congress. The next debate over the bill is scheduled for December 21st.

Good Morrow! Space Adventures With Lord British
- BERJAYA 15 Comments
I went to a lecture this week held by the pleasantly flamboyant game designer/entrepreneur/astronaut Richard Garriott.

The lecture was made up of a combination of his various successes, interests and hobbies, beginning with some biographical snippets. These snippets included information about his first forays into programming on a teletype machine, a self-directed "foreign language credit" course in Basic that his high-school created solely for him, and the way in which his desire to create a private space programme came from the heartbreak he felt at being casually informed by a NASA eye doctor that, due to his poor eyesight, he could never become an astronaut. His dad was an astronaut, his neighbours were astronauts - the idea that not everybody could go to space for a living blew his mind.
