Well, after all, busting your state’s budget to prevent women from successfully having abortions means you don’t have any money to help anyone already born – so it’s a WIN/WIN!
These Christianista’s don’t believe in aborting fetuses, but they’re A-OK with aborting the lives of the old, the sick, the poor, the brown, the gay, women, etc.
The death penalty is another budget-buster. A state could just stick somebody in prison for life (in Pennsylvania, “life means life”) and be done with it, but no, the DAs always call for the death penalty and have the taxpayers fund rebuttals to appeals for 20 or 30 years, until the convict dies a natural death.
We go decades without ever actually executing anyone. Although Governor Corbett is signing so many orders rumor has it next year’s budget has a robosigner in the fine print.
I guess it does help solve the lawyer glut.
