If you listen to podcasts I'm on or read any articles I write about Minecraft then you already know I love it. I adore the fact that it lets me create whatever comes to my imagination, but also that I have to earn the tools to make my creations come to life. It's helped me through some dire times in my personal life, and been one of the games I've spent more time with than any other in the last year.
Obviously, I like it a lot.
That being said, I don't feel comfortable reviewing Minecraft until I spend some time with the "final release," which went live today at Minecon. This new content doesn't radically alter the core gameplay of Minecraft, but is different enough I feel I should give it a shot before rendering a verdict on one of the biggest games of the year.
For now, tide yourselves over with the first of three videos I've made showing scores Minecraft is most definitely not getting.
The second and third editions will appear Monday and Tuesday of next week, with the final review scheduled to go up before Thanksgiving.
