Posted by simon clydesdale - 17 November 2011 at 1:22pm - 0 Comments

Today we've released shocking footage of ocean life dying in gruesome ways at the hands of industrial tuna fishers in the Pacific Ocean. The footage was shot by a New Zealand helicopter pilot turned whistleblower, who undertook aerial reconnaissance for tuna boats in the Pacific in 2009.

Evan Brooks blogs about Greenpeace East Asia’s investigation into pesticides on Tesco produce.

After three years of independent testing, produce sold at Tesco supermarkets in China continues to show levels of pesticides far above the legal limit. When is Tesco going to wake up and smell the chemically-doused produce?

Posted by mollybrooks - 14 November 2011 at 2:52pm - 0 Comments

Brian Fitzgerald from Greenpeace International introduces the latest video in the 'Stories from the Rainbow Warrior' series.

He infiltrated the Greenpeace ship Esperanza masquerading as an assistant cook. Nobody knew, nor were they supposed to know, his true identity.

The Good, The Bad And The Queen rock the Rainbow Warrior

Posted by Tamara Stark - 11 November 2011 at 5:25pm - 9 Comments

It was an incredibly moving sight last night as we walked by Tower Bridge and saw the Rainbow Warrior III, at anchor on the Thames, come into view. Lights illuminated her majestic 50-metre tall masts, and a full moon shone down on the river as we headed into the Design Museum for a gathering of supporters and friends to mark the inaugural visit of the ship to the UK – and the 40th anniversary of the birth of Greenpeace.

EDF compiled dossiers on our activists in Britain

So it turns out we’re not paranoid then – the French courts today convicted EDF, the French nuclear giant of spying on our colleagues in the French Greenpeace office. They were hacking their computers, putting viruses into their networks and compiling dossiers of our activists here in Britain.

Advice from consultancy firm McKinsey will lead to more deforestation, not less as it claims

This week, the Guardian uncovered evidence of global consultancy firm McKinsey profiting from the shake-up to the NHS. At the same time, McKinsey was paid £250,000 a year by the UK government for advice on the transition towards health secretary Andrew Lansley's vision for the service.
