The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim PC Review

By Mike Nelson and Scott Sharkey | PC Reviews | Nov 10, 2011 5:01 AM | Comment

The world of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a vast expanse of sheer beauty, danger, and adventure -- you can also terrorize townsfolk, get punched in the face by a giant, and fight a ton of dragons. Those are just a few reasons why we love this game so much. Because of the sheer scope of Skyrim we've elected to have two fellow adventurers, Mike Nelson and Scott Sharkey, share their thoughts on the game, debate its merits, and weigh in on why this is one of the best titles of the year. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 PC Review

By Mike Sharkey and Bennett Ring | PC Reviews | Nov 9, 2011 6:00 PM | Comment

Unfortunately Activision's recent Modern Warfare 3 review event didn't include any love for the PC version, which is why GameSpy is bringing our PC review to you a couple of days after the retail launch of the game. We put two long time Call of Duty veterans on the case to deliver a definitive view of the PC version in the shortest possible time; Mike Sharkey blazed through the short campaign while Bennett Ring returned to the online fold to put the multiplayer through its paces. Funnily enough they both reached the same conclusion; Call of Duty's recipe for success is in dire need of an innovation injection. Read More »

Bethesda: You Can Play Skyrim Forever

By Mike Sharkey | PC News | Nov 9, 2011 11:02 AM | Comment

Thanks to the new Radiant AI technology in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the people and creatures you encounter will appear to truly live in the game's digital world. According to Bethesda's Todd Howard, that also means Skyrim is a game you can play "forever" because NPCs will never run out of new quests, tasks, and jobs for you to do. Read More »

Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand Preview

By Mike Nelson | PC Previews | Nov 8, 2011 6:43 AM | Comment

I had a lapse of Battelfield-ness in my career as a gamer; I skipped around some of the series, Battlefield 2 in particular. I'm letting you know this because yesterday I had a chance to go hands-on with two "classic" Battlefield 2 maps: Strike at Karkand and Gulf of Oman which will "strike" (see what I did there?) a sense of nostalgia in those who've stuck with the franchise every step of the way. Trine 2 Beta Impressions

By Nick Winter | PC News | Nov 8, 2011 5:44 AM | Comment

Imagine a world of giant pumpkins, florescent mushrooms, and levitating boxes. Imagine sneaky goblins, huge snails and fantastic magic. Yes, it might sound like a fairy tale from your childhood (or even one of those crazy stories your old Uncle Bill used to tell you about from his "Woodstock days"), but this, gamers, is the world of Trine 2. And it's absolutely, gobsmackingly stunning. Read More »

Looking for GameSpy's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 review? We're working on it! Sonic Generations Review

By Ray Barnholt | PC Reviews | Nov 7, 2011 3:36 PM | Comment

My, what a rough life for Sonic for Hedgehog. It started out great, but then he was in a spate of adventures in the years afterward that were usually middling to awful. The good news is that the PC was spared of the more recent failures, but Sega's brought Sonic back to the platform with Sonic Generations, a game meant to look beyond the bad parts of Sonic's history and simply celebrate 20 years of games that were, honestly, not all bad. And this isn't all bad, either. Read More »
