Bruce Springsteen geeks take note! This is a video of the first-ever (solo) performance of "Incident On 57th Street," from the 1973 album, The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle. It happened Friday night, during a concert the Boss was playing his old friend, Joe Grusheky in Grusheky's hometown, Pittsburgh. God, it sounds great, doesn't it?

I believe it is the first-ever *solo guitar* performance of Incident, not first-ever-ever. But still. Bruce defies age and everything. Still the man.

I had a Springsteen song stuck in my head yesterday and I almost strangled myself with a flannel shirt.
Live debut of "The Price You Pay" was 10/31/80 at the LA Sports Arena, which is a great show worth getting. While I freely admit TPYP is not exactly a frequent setlist visitor, it did come out on the 09 tour, opening the last show they played at the Spectrum:

That was fab, but I do miss the organ and pretty girl backing singers.
Bruce needs to write epic and convoluted 10-minute songs again.
@LondonLee He wrote a kind of "Zero and Blind Terry" spinoff on his last album called "Outlaw Pete." It didn't quite have the gravitas of "Incident," though.
Other great overly long Springsteen songs: "Thundercrack", "Kitty's Back."
I was at this show! This song replaced a solo accoustic version of "For You" that he had played the night before; that's my favorite Bruce song so I was kind of disappointed at first, but this performance was really special.
Also amazing was a solo accoustic performance of "Does This Bus Stop at 82nd Street."
