It’s funny how people from the other side of the world are actually looking forward for the rain. Here in the Philippines though there are still towns suffering from waist-deep floods from the typhoons. So well, you could say they are sick of the rain. Some, literally
Ah, I love the rain. People always complain about it, but I find it to be cleansing and therapeutic. Whenever it rains, I find myself deep into thought more often than I do when it’s sunny outside. Great picture! Water looks even more fascinating up close.
What an incredibly beautiful photograph… I’ve had to look at it several times now to even begin to appreciate all of the textures you’ve represented here. Thanks so much for sharing this with us! And congrats on the FP.
i loooove that shot! kind of abstract and gloomy in the most beautiful way. makes me want to take a trip to seattle and sip a cup of mud while taking in some live music. thanks for sharing! http://www.icouldntmakethisshitup.wordpress.com
You have done an amazing job at utilising light and the colour of the road here, it is extremely effective! Whilst this would have been amazing in B&W also I’m glad you didn’t go that way as there is a bluey haze in some reflections of the water which is stunning!
where was this taken? do you live in texas, or other parts of the southwest? because they certainly need rain there. Up north, we are getting too much rain, so much so the wine growers’ grapes are rotting on the vine. Congratulations on being FP!
Beautiful. It reminds me of the dreary but awe-inspiring rainy roads I had to drive through to get to my exams. I come from a place where it doesn’t rain much. I wonder why the weather is usually so beautiful in my exam days
Yes! (:
I don’t know where you are but in Canada, it’s been raining a lot and I really like it^^
This may sound a bit weird but…I was able to use my new bought umbrella that I’ve been dying to use!^3^
Yay! I love the rain and have been waiting for it to begin again. Being a SF Native summers in Sacramento are hard on me. Gorgeous picture! Congrats on being Freshly Pressed!
A really clever ‘capture’ – the bubbly, flowing textures where none should be, breaking up the formal lines and the whole luminous look – a great picture, many thanks for sharing
I think we may have stolen your rain you need, it’s been raining like crazy over here! We just finally got some sun the past few days. And the photo looks gorgeous too!
Yes RAIN finally lol! We just had our first bout of rain here in sunny San Diego as well, and it’s been a nice change. The cooler weather sets the mood for Halloween and the upcoming holidays.
That’s a BEAUTIFUL thing! We finally have rain in our forecast, too — can’t wait for fall!
You can have some more of the rain we have in Massachusetts if you’d like. We’ve had enough. Nice pic though.
Haha. I have you agree with you, that’s all it does it rain here huh?
Great picture, the emotional aspect of it must feel something like 1st snowfall of the season here.
I love this shot, and I love the caption. I hope it rains here soon!

Ahhh, one person’s wish for rain is another’s nightmare come true! Enjoy your rain…..we are desperate for a little sunshine here in NY.
Rain is great when it’s happening to other people.

Great capture.
So simple yet so intriguing! Congrats on your FP!
Nice shot!
I was always in awe of how a city yields to nature as she reclaims and cleanses what is hers during heavy rain.
Yes! (:

Romance is in the air…romance is in the air!!:)
The haves and the have-not’s. Some of us are dying for rain and others have had more than enough. Great pix.
I had a big rainstorm last night too after a long dry spell, and falling asleep to the sound of rain was magical.
