The Deus Ex: Human Revolution conspiracy grows deeper in The Missing Link. The Missing Link reveals it all. After being tortured by Belltower agents and having his augmentations disabled, Adam Jensen must rely solely on his basic capabilities to escape from a freighter, destined for an unknown location. While fighting for his survival on the ship, he uncovers another layer to the conspiracy that he never would have suspected. As Adam, gamers will befriend new, mysterious allies and fight ruthless enemies to discover what was happening in the shadows during the events of Deus Ex: Human Revolution!
The DLC is slated for release in October.
To play it, you'll need to have ARMA II: Combined Operations installed and patched up with Arma II: Operation Arrowhead v1.59. Download the mod here.
"I've tried for months to come up with a genre description for this one and I gave up. The best way I can describe it is - you are the Dragon Commander. You plan your campaign, you make decisions that affect the lives of many, you decide what to research (and by consequence what not), whether magic or technology or both are your thing, you decide on the strategy and you lead in combat where you can focus on either being the tactical genius that doesn't get his hands dirty or the legendary hero that is all over the place. I know it sounds fuzzy, but you really can do all of these things."
You can read the rest of the interview with its frequent, gleeful mention of jetpacks and rocket launchers (which will both be strapped to the dragons) here.
GUYS! I'm talking about a game as though t'were my real life! Deus Ex: HR has been stealthily sapping my eventides away until suddenly the hour is preposterous. Preposterous hours may well be my favourite kind, but I do wish I had an augmentation that supplanted the necessity to sleep with a necessity to eat toast.
Aside from toast-sleep, most augments I'd go for would be brain-related; switchable neural nets (get Tesla's brain for a night), sponge-memory (tune out during particularly boring lectures while retaining every piece of mundane information) and the ability to wipe repulsively catchy songs from the region of my brain that currently stores them all as horrifying, infinitely-looping choruses with no loss of fidelity.
This video about real-life human augmentations has been doing the rounds for a few weeks but it was put together by a fellow with a CAMERA INSIDE OF HIS EYE, so I feel perfectly validated in posting it for you today.
The changes to the killstreak system sounds pretty refreshing to me, especially considering that the support tree may very well encourage better team oriented tactics vs non-stop rambo-ing by all. Stay tuned for more impressions, including thoughts on the event itself and the journey to and from.
Week 1 of the Beta has been a great success with tens of thousands of players getting their first taste of Red Orchestra 2. With the players' help we've been able to uncover and address several issues including a particularly nasty server browser issue which was duly fixed. After opening up the RO2 Beta with 3 maps (Fallen Fighters, Apartments and Gumrak), we are cycling in 3 more maps for everyone later today:
- Grain Elevator - the iconic battle site in the south of Stalingrad featuring long range infantry fighting outdoors and room to room close quarters combat inside
- Red October Factory - night-time fighting in the factory ruins on an epic scale with infantry and tanks fighting side by side
- Barracks - a mix of close-quarter and medium-range combat, sure to be a fan favorite
All 3 maps will have both Territory and Countdown game modes, while Barracks also has the Firefight mode.
Anyone that pre-purchases the deluxe edition before the game launches will now get instant access to the beta, so head on over to the Steam store to get your copy and join the fight. And if you are one of those who bought the standard version of the game - you can now upgrade directly to the Deluxe version and get straight into the Beta!
The game will be available digitally and in store on 13 September 2011 around the world and is now available for pre-purchase. More information from the Steam store page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/35450/ and from the game website: http://www.heroesofstalingrad.com/ .
I did not catch a price for this new console, but they presumably will want some money for it.

In other news Jube wants me to extend a congratulations to "cobaltblues" and "Callard" for winning steam keys for the time-traveling RTS Achron. If you are one of the two (and Jube will check), please send an email over to Jube to claim your prize. Our next giveaway will involve a decent chunk of Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad beta keys. We should have a number of ways for you guys to snag one too, so stay tuned next week for more info. If you enjoy a little more oomph behind your bullets then you've got to try RO2 out.
Your video today comes to you from the horrible lip-syncer BeenerKeeKee19952. I used to think celebs and artists were taking advantage of the dude (and his condition), but now it looks like he's the one having the last laugh all the way to the bank. Have a great holiday weekend US peeps!
