Game Over?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 8:32 pm

How big has the federal government become? Way too big.

How can this affect the electoral process? Frightening!

Whammo!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 11:42 am

I presume that this video has been making the rounds, but you gotta see it. Buzz Aldrin, the 74-year-old former astronaut, is being hounded by a moon conspiracy (i.e. the photos from the moon were fake) asshole, until he finally loses his patience and clocks the guy a shot.

Sweet!

The link also contains the Mythbusters episode that debunks the conspiracy claims.

Thanks to Captain Artie for the link.

Drowned Polar Bears.

Remember how we were told by Algore and other like-minded assholes that the polar ice floes were melting due to global warming, which, in turn, was causing polar bears to drown? Sure you do. It tugged at your heartstrings and may even have caused you to buy a Prius or some of those horrible mercury-filled light bulbs.

Turns out that it’s all bullshit.

I hope there’s a special place in Hell reserved for Algore.

Rehearsing.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 9:10 pm

First, forgive me for what appears to be milking the Fort Collins thing, but the facts are that: (a) the crap being plopped on the country by The One and his democrat and Pretend-Republican cronies sickens me to the point to where smoke comes out of my ears, and, besides, others blog it way better than I, and (b) I don’t feel like writing, because I have been taking refuge in ruminating about how great it was to make music with old and dear friends.

Anyway, with that said, here are a couple photos of a “rehearsal.” Seems to me that referring to these few sessions as “rehearsals” is an insult to the word “rehearsal,” given that a “rehearsal” presupposes the mere tidying up material already known to everyone. That was not exactly our situation, having not played before a live audience since 1968.

Me. I was taking the photos, so you have to take it on faith that I was rehearsing. Here are the tools of the trade, so to speak. Yes, I did play guitar on a couple tunes, but back in the day, publicly, I always played drums.

Abbey Road.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 8:45 pm

BERJAYA
Yes, Virginia, there is a street in Fort Collins called “Abbey Road.” When we saw the sign, we couldn’t resist.

BERJAYA
It was difficult to stage this one, given the amount of traffic on the street at the time.

One of these days, we’ll grow up.

Still Crazy After All These Years*

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 4:30 pm

In short, it went well, if the size and enthusiasm of the crowd were any indications. Then again, I suppose it could be that the folks in Fort Collins are either exceedingly polite or partially deaf.

I arrived back at the House by the Parkway at 3 a.m. today, and I’m spending the day dealing with some less-than-fun post-trip activities such as unpacking and doing laundry. I’m also busy with more pleasant post-trip activities such as contemplating what a great time I had.

Many photos were taken and will be circulated among us over the next few days. I’ll share.

In the meantime, here are a couple candid photos taken by Tatsy’s son, Rob, who also shot video of the whole shebang, which I hope to see over the next week or so.

I believe I’m singing, but I’m not sure.

Here’s a pretty cool/artsy photo of Hideo singing.

Saby is singing a Hawaiian song about cowboys on the Big Island. According to Saby, Hawaii had cowboys before Colorado. I don’t think the Colorado peeps were buying that.

We returned to the scene of the crime for a photo on Sunday before everyone headed home. (Left to right: Ed, me, Saby, Hideo, Tatsy)

More later.

The equipment is set. Showtime in four hours. Yikes!

Special thanks to Brian, a nice feller from Colorado, for the loan of the drum set.

Behold a Fort Collins Brewery Sampler.

This was preceded by a couple pints of Fat Tire Amber Ale at the hotel and followed by another Fat Tire Ale and a mondo burrito with some refried beans at a local Mexican place. (burp!)

Later in the week we’ll be checking out the brewery that makes Fat Tire Ale. So much beer, so little time.

Bingley would be in his glory.
