Deus Ex: Human Revolution Review

By Bennett Ring and Dan Staines | PC Reviews | Aug 22, 2011 8:36 AM | Comment

Deus Ex is a game defined by player agency. Where other games only promise freedom of choice, Deus Ex delivers it. This makes Human Revolution a very interesting game to review – one reviewer might take the Commando path, blasting everything in sight, while the next prefers to approach it from a stealthy perspective, keeping to the shadows and remaining unseen. Which version do you review? Our solution was to get two reviewers to deliver their verdict, each taking a wildly different approach. Read on to see just how different the game can be depending on how you choose to play. Read More »

Wildstar Hands-On: A Class Act

By Cassandra Khaw | PC Previews | Aug 20, 2011 9:43 PM | Comment

Making its debut at this year's GamesCom, Wildstar is NCSoft's next foray into the increasingly competitive MMORPG arena. A cartoony mash-up of fantasy, science-fiction and a hint of spaghetti Western for good measure, Wildstar is Carbine's flagship product for the future, and the team behind it has a wealth of world-building experience. "You name it, and someone in the building has probably had had a hand in it," Executive Producer Jeremy Gaffney informed our small group of journalists during a presentation at GamesCom. Have they used this experience to build something new, or is it just another rehash of the successful WoW recipe? Read More »

Gamescom 2011: Battlefield 3 vs. Modern Warfare 3

By Daniel Griliopoulos | PC Articles | Aug 20, 2011 3:49 AM | Comment

At this year's GamesCom, the behemoth that is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is finally finding its dominance challenged by Battlefield 3. There were two comparable demos available for both games; BF3 was showing off elements of its newly revealed co-op campaign behind closed doors as well as 64-player multiplayer on the show floor, while Modern Warfare was presenting two demos of its Spec Ops co-op mission and survival modes. Both featured two-player co-op in urban environments, though the actual implementation differed hugely. Daniel Griliopoulos got hands-on time with both, to find out which one had the most impressive GamesCom presence. Read More »
