Lots and lots and lots.

The sectarian group, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, has said it was behind Tuesday's gun attacks in western Pakistan in which 29 people were killed.

Gunmen stopped a bus and killed 26 Shia pilgrims travelling through Mastung in Balochistan province.

They later attacked an ambulance that was carrying people injured in that attack, killing three more people.

Pakistan's authorities banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi in 2001 for sectarian violence.

A predominantly Punjabi group with links to al-Qaeda and the Taliban, it is also linked with the 2002 murder of US reporter Daniel Pearl and other militant attacks, particularly in the southern city of Karachi.

So weather its call the Taliban, the Haqqani network. LeT or Lashkar-e-Jhangvi is the samed damn thing. A bunch of Islamic terrorist savages hell bent on murder and blood lust for the other. No matter if the other are Shia, Sufi, Christian, Jews or Americans the common denominator is they want to blame their problems on the other and solve them with murder.

No this is about capitalism. The Saudi needs to compete in the open market of ideas or STFU. We can't run around all day kissing their ass and covering up things just to be nice. Compete in the open marketplace of ideas or lose out. Its that simple.

Burundi, a tiny nation still reeling from a civil war that killed more than 250,000 people, is awash in weapons but attacks like the one Sunday night are rare. Still, the region borders eastern Congo, which is wracked by violence from a myriad of rebel groups.

Two major distinctions between a cult and a religion is that a cult limits member's contact with outside groups and a cult will attempt to punish those who leave.

Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism all have one thing in common Islam doesn't. They do not fear their followers being exposed to other faiths and they do not seek to punish those who choose to leave.

UPDATE by Rusty: Lot's of faiths have consequences for their followers leaving: threats of hell, excommunication, or ostracizing.

The difference here is that these people want legal consequences.

That doesn't make this a problem of Islam, but a problem of Islamism. Which is a problem in nearly all Muslim countries, even so-called secular and moderate ones like Malaysia.

If Muslims want to say you are going to hell if you convert to Christianity, then that's their prerogative. If they want you to go to jail then this is a violation of basic human rights. It also makes them an Islamist.

Legal Insurrection:

While walking in the street someone pushed me from behind with such force that I nearly fell over.

Turning around, I found myself surrounded by five men, one of whom tried to punch me in the face. I stopped the attack by pointing out how shameful it was for a Muslim to assault a guest in his country, especially during Ramadan.

Relieved that a seemingly random assault was over, I was appalled by the apology offered by one of my assailants. �Sorry,� he said contritely, offering his hand, �we thought you were a Jew.�

Its so refreshing that now that democracy has come to Egypt the Muslims there can finally act in a manner that reflects how they actually feel.

Congressman LTC Allen West once again states the uncomfortable, politically incorrect truth (all emphasis mine):

West said the political correctness intimidates people from saying what he believes is true about Islam.

"If we continue down this road, as I call it multiculturalism on steroids, then we're going to present a gap by which we can get exploited time and time again. So I think that we have to start kind of like in baseball the umpire calls a ball a ball and a strike as strike and it's time that we start calling some strikes out there."

"I am not sitting up here and condemning people who call themselves Muslims," West said. "Now is the time we have to challenge this ideology. If we are to peacefully coexist they have to come into the 21st Century and push aside a lot of these 7th Century ideas they still hold."

West said he thinks that makes Islam a particular threat.

"We have to understand that the major religions of the world, Judaism and Christianity did go through reformations. Now when you look at this next major religion, I call it a theocratic political construct ideology, they need to go through a reform of the process as well.

"Ever since Muhammad left Mecca and took his Hijrah to Medina there was a violent turn to this faith that is called Islam. And we must confront that and we must understand that�.

The last paragraph touches on what I wrote in comments under Howie�s post about the Taliban.

There are peaceful verses in the quran, and there are violent verses, as there are in other Holy Books. Muslims are free to select which of those verses they choose to embrace. But the quran has one distinguishing feature that other holy texts don�t have � the quran states which of those conflicting verses are valid and which are abrogated. One only needs to do simple research about the chronological order of the quran to understand how certain verses have become more relevant than others.

Are there peaceful Muslims who choose to only embrace the peaceful aspects of Islam and dismiss the violent aspects? Certainly. A majority do. But we cannot, in good conscience, ignore the truth that Islamic extremists do have religious justification to commit the atrocities they commit.

This is something Muslims, as a whole, need to address. They should be the first to challenge radical ideology of Islamic extremists. Since it would be impossible to dispute justification the quran (and Muhammad's own example) supports, West correctly states, there is a necessity for reformation.

But in the absence of their collective condemnation and reformation, it is imperative that all people who recognize the barbarity and inhumanity of terrorism to stand up for the truth. Knowledge is the greatest weapon of all. And as long as there is a brave few willing to speak out truthfully, however politically incorrect, there is hope.

MSNBC:

A powerful bomb placed in a briefcase outside the High Court in New Delhi killed at least 10 people and wounded 61 on Wednesday in an attack authorities said was claimed by a South Asian militant group linked to al-Qaida.
The bomb dug a crater three to four feet deep near the main reception counter where passes are issued for lawyers and visitors to enter the sprawling sandstone building before the main security checkpoint.

Authorities said the Harkat-ul-Jihad Islami (HUJI) militant group � an al-Qaida affiliate with bases in Pakistan and Bangladesh � had sent an email claiming responsibility. Ilyas Kashmiri, who U.S. authorities believe was recently killed in Pakistan, was the head of HUJI and a senior al-Qaida member.

(Orlando, Florida) The Islamic Society of Central Florida has decided to impose a $5 parking fee on worshippers at Orlando-area mosques.

The parking fee � viewed by many as "pay to pray" � has sparked outrage within the Muslim community. It violates the Islamic belief that money for religious purposes is given voluntarily.

Playland's Park rules are clearly posted: "All items and clothing must be appropriately secured while on a ride; some smaller items can be stored/secured in cargo pockets or waist pouches. Hats must be secured, and jackets/sweaters must be worn properly and not around the waist while on a ride. Some rides do not allow backpacks, purses or head gear of any kind."

But for some, rules apply to thee, but not for me.

A melee broke out Tuesday afternoon at Playland Amusement Park when Muslim visitors became angry that the park was enforcing its ban on headgear by prohibiting the women from wearing their traditional head coverings on some rides.

A melee just spontaneously broke out after several Muslim visitors became "angry"? Funny how that always seems to happen...

Sounds to me these Muslims want Playland to conform to their customs and traditions. I'm guessing this is a part of the 20% who want to "be distinct from the larger American society."

It seems the biggest complaint is the disproportionate response by police. (Now, where have I heard that complaint before?)

You know what I'd like to see? I'd like to see midgets rioting in an amusement park because they don't meet that minimum height requirement for rides. That alone would be worth admission.

Good News: There has been no rise in support for Islamic extremism among American Muslims since 2007!

It's good to see a majority - well over half - of American Muslims are concerned about Islamic extremism and don't support (at least 'not too much') extremist views. Almost half think American Muslim leaders have not done enough to combat extremism. And almost TWICE as many as in 2007 think the U.S. War on Terrorism is a sincere effort.

Bad News: 13% of American Muslims still think suicide bombings and other acts of violence against innocent civilians are justified:

According to the Pew Research Poll (page 2 of report), there are approximately 2,750,000 Muslims in America. That 13% translates to more than 350,000 Muslims in America who support the use of terrorism, at least some of the time.

It's also a little disconcerting to me that 85% of Pakistani Muslims completely reject terrorism as ever being justified, compared to only 81% of American Muslims.

So, take your pick. The glass is half full or half empty. Either way, we are in the same situation.

Update: I had to correct my math - the percent of American Muslims who justify terrorism, according to this poll, is 13%, not the 14% I had initially posted. That means 357,500 support terrorism to some degree, not 385,000. Sorry about that. It was an unintentional mistake.

(Toronto, Ontario) A 48-year-old Muslim imam at the local Baitul Mukarram Islamic Society, Mohammad Masroor, has been arrested for the alleged sexual assault of at least five victims, both male and female.

The alleged offenses reportedly occurred between November 2008 and July 2011. Masroor faces multiple counts of sexual assault and threatening death.

Det. Const. Karen Armstrong told a Wednesday morning press conference that �Mohammad Masroor was a leader in the community, he was in a position of trust. Because he was in a position of power, we believe there are other victims.�

A 12-year-old boy called Sajid prays at the Baitul Mukarram mosque. He knew Mr. Masroor, and although he was not aware of the charges laid against the man who once taught him the Koran, the young boy says what constitutes acceptable behaviour depends on where you are.

�I don�t think it�s really like that, because masroor was a good man, he didn�t do anything bad,� says Sajid, who did not want last name used. �It�s not like that because back home, like in Bangladesh, you�re allowed to hit people. It�s OK.�

Mr. Masroor has lived and worked in many countries, Det. Armstrong said, including France, Germany, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and, most recently, in the U.S. in Florida and Michigan.

(Cranwell, Lincolnshire, England) A Royal Air Force training college dean, Dr. Joel Hayward, is a Muslim convert who has criticized NATO efforts in Libya, likened Winston Churchill to Mohammad, asserted that fewer Jews were killed by the Nazis than generally thought and said Holocaust gas chambers were British propaganda.

Needless to say, Hayward engenders concern and suspicion on the part of RAF colleagues. He has been dubbed the "Air Force Ayatollah."

One senior officer expressed concern that Dr Hayward was focusing more on �Islamist activities that are nothing to do with the RAF�.

He also accused him of giving Muslim cadets preferential treatment and making other students take a �softly, softly line when writing about Muslim terrorists/Islamist extremists�.

Another officer claimed cadets and lecturers �are in fear� of expressing anything that might be construed as anti-Muslim sentiment. �Anyone who fails to follow the line that Islam is a peace-loving religion is hauled into his office for re-education,� he said.

There is no al Qaeda in Egypt. Repeat that three times before watching this video.

In a scene resembling an Islamist version of the post-apocalyptic film �Mad Max,� dozens of kaffiyeh-covered young men ride into the heart of Egypt�s Sinai Peninsula on motorcycles and in the beds of pickup trucks into El-Arish. Although they may not be there to pillage and plunder, the al-Qaida flag waved by one militant heralds a dangerous new development.

The video was posted on YouTube last week and followed by a statement Tuesday from a group claiming to be the newest branch of al-Qaida. The statement said that al-Qaida of the Sinai Peninsula promised to transform the dusty backwater of the Sinai into a new Islamic Emirate. It also called for Islam to be the only source of legislation in its new state, and demanded that Egypt�s military revoke agreements signed with Israel.

(Victoria, Australia) Inculcating young children with irrational biases assures endurance for flawed beliefs. Here's an example.

A DAD told his young daughter it was forbidden to play with non-Muslim children, a court has been told.

When he went to court seeking custody of the little girl, who was born in 2007, a federal magistrate said it was disturbing that he had tried to alienate the girl from the non-Muslim community in Australia.

The Federal Magistrates' Court, sitting in Victoria, heard that the girl had refused to play with another, fair-haired girl during a visit with a family counsellor.

The girl allegedly said "Baba says it is haram", explaining to her mother that she was not allowed to play with non-Muslim children.

CBS:

WACO, Texas - An AWOL soldier accused of plotting an attack on Fort Hood with a bomb in backpack was defiant during his first court appearance on Friday, yelling out the name of the Army physiacist [sic, they meant psychiatrist -- Nidal Hasan] blamed in the 2009 deadly shooting rampage at the same Texas base.

Abdo, who had requested conscientious objector status because his Muslim beliefs prevented him from fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, refused to stand up when asked to in court. As he left the room, he yelled: "Nidal Hasan Fort Hood 2009."

Hasan, an Army major, is charged with killing 13 people at Fort Hood in the worst mass shooting ever on a U.S. military installation.

In less than a year, Nasser Abdo apparently went from a peaceful moderate Muslim who condemned the 2009 terrorist attack at Fort Hood to a radicalized Islamist ready to kill innocent people (all emphasis mine):

KILLEEN, Texas � As Pfc. Naser Abdo beseeched officials to grant him conscientious objector status and release him from the military, he condemned a fellow Muslim soldier accused of shooting 13 people to death at Fort Hood. Such acts, he wrote, "run counter to what I believe in as a Muslim."

Less than a year later, officials say Abdo has admitted planning to launch another attack on Fort Hood with a bomb in a backpack and weapons stashed in a motel room where he was arrested Wednesday, about 3 miles from the Texas Army base's main gate.

"Little did I know that when I first became a Muslim that I was going to learn what Islam meant to me and what I was willing to sacrifice for it," he wrote.

Abdo said life was better after he arrived at his first duty station, but that he studied Islam more closely as he neared deployment to learn "whether going to war was the right thing to do Islamically."

"I began to understand and believe that only God can give legitimacy to war and not humankind," he wrote. "That's when I realized my conscience would not allow me to deploy."

But where would one find God's directive for war? Hmm... Just wondering...

Guardian:

Afghan insurgents appeared to continue their assassination campaign against key public figures on Wednesday with the killing of the mayor of Kandahar.

Ghulam Haider Hamidi was targeted by a suicide bomber who got into the municipality compound in Kandahar City with explosives concealed under his turban. The technique was first used earlier this month in a mosque in the city during a memorial service for Ahmed Wali Karzai, a regional strongman and half-brother of the president.

Abdul Manan, a municipality employee, said the mayor had emerged from his office into the garden, where he made a call on his mobile phone.

The assassin grabbed him and detonated the bomb.

"I rushed outside and saw the mayor was lying still on the ground," said Manan. "Another headless body was next to him and the mayor had deep wounds on his face and chest.''

I take offense at Yahoo! News calling this "an extreme version of Islam." This isn't an extreme version, but the most accurate embodiment of Islam as Muhammad taught. This is real Islam.

The "peaceful" or "moderate" version is extreme, in the sense that it ignores and distances itself from certain demands of true Islam. By ignoring those required aspects, it ceases to be Islam.

Yes this is who we are fighting in Afghanistan. I seriously doubt the claims of the Taliban, the murdered people appear to be ordinary Muslims.

The Taliban videotaped the brutal execution of more than a dozen Pakistani policemen who were captured during last month's raid in a remote area of northwestern Pakistan.

The graphic video, which shows 16 Pakistani policemen who are lined up and then gunned down by Taliban fighters wielding AK-47s, was taken in early June in the Shaltalu area of the district of Dir in northwestern Pakistan, a Pakistani official and US intelligence officials who track the region told The Long War Journal. The executions were filmed after the policemen were captured during several days of heavy fighting.

A Taliban commander tells the policemen they are responsible for the execution of six Pakistani "children" in the neighboring Pakistani district of Swat. Just prior to executing the Pakistani men, the Taliban leader gives a quick speech.

"These are the enemies of Islam who originated from Pakistan," says the Taliban commander, who is masked and has not been identified, according to a translation of the statement received by The Long War Journal. He describes the men as "murtards," or those who have abandoned Islam.

The sister, Shahnaz Bibi, is in the hospital and doctors said that her legs cannot be reattached.

�She has lost far too much blood and she will not walk again,� said Dr Qasim Safdar.

Shahnaz Bibi�s mother Maryam Bibi said that her son, Asif had fled after attacking his sister.

Shahnaz�s husband Taru Sanbal said that he had registered a case with the local police against his brother-in-law. �We had a quarrel and she returned to her parent�s house but it was nothing serious. I was planning on giving her time to cool off before bringing her back home. Asif had no right to ruin her life,� he said.

Shahnaz�s parents have told police that they do not know the whereabouts of their son.

Every religion, nationality, race, and culture has selfish people who would put their own lives ahead of everyone else's, including children.

But no where is it more prevalent than among the male followers of the religion of peace. Whether its using children as human shields, making life and death decisions for "lesser" female family members, mutilating female children so they won't be so alluring, or simply enslaving the weaker sex for personal and sexual gain.

Now comes this story which, for some reason, doesn't surprise me a bit:

Local Australian Federal Police officer, Special Constable Shane Adams, stood on the cliffs at Rocky Point on December 15, trying to help the 89 asylum seekers and three crew members whose boat had smashed into rocks.

He spotted the girl after the boat broke apart trying to dog paddle towards a life jacket he had flung into the sea.

Const Adams said he then noticed a man aged about 35 in the water nearby.

"He reached out and grabbed the life jacket, pushed out with his right foot and struck the young girl on the shoulder, pushing her back," he told the inquest on Christmas Island.

That was the last time Const Adams saw the girl.

For those who don't know, this incident happened at Christmas Island last year when a boatload of refugees, mostly from Afghanistan and Iraq, crashed into the rocky shore during rough seas. As many as 50 people died.

It's deja vu all over again in the Phillippines.

Suspicion fell on the notorious terrorist group Abu Sayyaf, which has been blamed for ransom kidnappings, beheadings and bombings in the last two decades, or a Muslim rebel commander whose group has been linked to previous abductions. The 400-plus Abu Sayyaf militants, who are fighting for an Islamist state in the predominantly Christian nation, are holding three other kidnap victims, including a child, as part of desperate efforts to raise funds, according to the Philippine army. City police chief Edwin de Ocampo told reporters that the gunmen stormed a beach house on Tictabon island and took three tourists. De Ocampo identified them as Gerfa Yeatts Lunsmann, 50, her son Kevin Eric, and a nephew, Romnick Jackaria, 19.

We pray for their safe release, and the tortuous, painful deaths of their kidnappers. Inshallah.

NY Times:

KABUL, Afghanistan � The only suspect arrested in the case of a woman mutilated for leaving her husband has been released, local Afghan officials and the woman�s father said Monday, in a move that has angered human rights advocates and the woman�s family.

On Monday, Mr. Farouq gave two different reasons for the release of Mr. Suleiman: that there was no one in Afghanistan to press the case against him � because the victim is now in the United States � and that he did not cut off the girl�s nose himself.

Bibi's father was asked about the release.

Aisha�s father, Mohammedzai, who was interviewed by telephone on Monday.

He added that Mr. Sulaiman was one of the people who held down his daughter while her husband cut her. The mutilation took place in Chora, a remote area of Oruzgan Province. Left for dead, Aisha fled to the safety of a women�s shelter in Kabul run by the advocacy group Women for Afghan Women, which publicized her plight a year later.

�The man they let out, he was Aisha�s father-in-law,� said Mr. Mohammedzai, his voice cracking as he spoke. �He was there at the time when they chopped off her nose and did the cruelty to her. He was one of the culprits and should have been punished, but the government released him.�

�We don�t know who released him,� he said. �We don�t know at all. It�s either government weakness or our weakness. We don�t have money to pay the government and we don�t have someone in the government to support us.�

Bibi was brought to the US for reconstructive surgery, which has been successful.

Muslims in the so called secular state were of course....outraged... You knew I was going to say that, didn't you?

(Reuters) - Police in Bangladesh on Sunday fired tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse Islamist activists trying to enforce a nationwide strike over the removal of a Muslim phrase in the constitution, and witnesses said around 50 people were injured.

The clashes erupted when thousands of bludgeon-carrying Islamists cut off a stretch of highway leading to the capital's eastern suburbs with barricades.

The protesters also damaged several cargo trucks before the police crack down, and some 100 people were detained.

The strike, which began two days after the country emerged from a 48-hour stoppage enforced by the opposition, was called to protest a recent amendment to the constitution which dropped the words "absolute faith and trust in Allah".

Arutz Sheva is reporting that ALL rapes in Norway in 2010 were committed by Muslims or asylum seekers from Islamic countries.

Defenders of Islam call it a "religion of peace" but many Norwegian women are learning that Islam is the religion of rape. According to an amazing police report released there this month, every single solved case of assault-rape in the country in 2010 was carried out by a Muslim immigrant.

The report was cited by an official Norwegian television station, which interviewed a victim who said that her rapist explained to her that his religion permits him to rape her.

So much for Islam�s claim of honoring and respecting women. All those additional "rights" - the right not to be raped, kidnapped or beaten without cause - Muhammad supposedly gave women only apply to Muslim women, and even they are subjected to abuse and brutality if their male owner is not happy with them.

They also bombed a police station murdering two.

CSMonitor: At least 25 Nigerians were killed Sunday night when motorcyclists threw bombs into outdoor beer gardens in the northeastern city of Maiduguri (see map). No group has claimed responsibility yet, but local police say the attack bore the hallmark of the Islamist group Boko Haram.

The attack underscores a deterioration of security in Nigeria's predominantly Muslim north � particularly since President Goodluck Jonathan, who comes from the mainly Christian south, was inaugurated on May 29. Boko Haram is fighting for the implemention of sharia (Islamic law), including a ban on alcohol, and has demanded an Islamic state.

Afghan officials say a suicide car bomber set off a huge blast Saturday at a hospital in eastern Afghanistan, killing at least 60 people.

The Afghan Health Ministry says the explosion in Logar province, about 40 kilometers from the capital, Kabul, wounded another 120 people. Women and children were among the casualties.

The Taliban has denied responsibility for the attack, saying the militant group does not target hospitals.

Earlier, authorities in northern Afghanistan said a bicycle bomb exploded in a bazaar late Friday, killing 10 people, including a police officer.

Officials say 24 people, including five women and a policeman, were wounded in the blast in the Khanabad district of Kunduz province.

In another development, NATO says one of its service members was killed in an insurgent attack Saturday in eastern Afghanistan.

Islamic extremists often get a little miffed at hospitals, where western doctors reconstruct women's ears and noses after some Muslime savage chops them off.

Who knows maybe they even treat women without a man's permission.

This is the problem with the Taiban, all the ones with half a brain are dead. The rest are mostly illiterate morons with no idea what to do except randomly blow up any Afghan that speaks to a Westerner.

It won't do the Taliban any good to issue orders because these idiots can't read them any way.

A Muslim soldier from Fort Campbell has been approved as a conscientious objector to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but he has now been charged with possession of child pornography.

Pfc. Naser Abdo, a 21-year-old infantry soldier, applied for the status last year after he decided Islamic standards would prohibit his service in the U.S. Army in any war. The Army approved his status in May, but his discharge is on hold until the criminal charge is resolved. (Source)

After Egyptian Shaykh Abu-Ishaq al-Huwayni's controversial comments about jihad and slavery ( see here) were published on YouTube, Facebook, and also in Egyptian press, he was given the opportunity to respond in a telephone interview aired on the Islamic satellite television station al-Hikma on 22 May 2011. In his approximately 20-minute response, he contended that his words in that clip were taken out of context--he was talking within the larget topic of offensive jihad. In this interview he explained the meaning of offensive jihad, and established through sources in the Qur'an and sayings of Muhammad that both offensive jihad and the taking of spoils of war, namely slaves and "sex-slaves," are legitimate under Islam.

I condensed the 20-minute interview down to about 8 and a half minutes, and subtitled the video in English.[Entire transcript here..ed]

(Batken Province, Kyrgyzstan) Two young Jehovah's Witnesses were convicted in Kadamjai District Court of possessing banned radical Islamic materials.

Each was sentenced to seven years in prison.

Iskandar Kambarov, 18, and Jonibek Nosirov, 22, were convicted of possessing DVDs associated with Hizb-ut-Tahrir, an underground radical Islamic group that advocates the non-violent overthrow of Central Asian governments.

Sentenced on May 18, the pair insists security officials planted the DVDs during two unannounced visits to their house on January 25.

Into sex slaves

A Kuwaiti woman who once ran for parliament has called for sex slavery to be legalised - and suggested that non-Muslim prisoners from war-torn countries would make suitable concubines.

Salwa al Mutairi argued buying a sex-slave would protect decent, devout and 'virile' Kuwaiti men from adultery because buying an imported sex partner would be tantamount to marriage.

And she even had an idea of where to 'purchase' these sex-salves - browsing through female prisoners of war in other countries.

The political activist and TV host even suggested that it would be a better life for women in warring countries as the might die of starvation.

Mutairi claimed: 'There was no shame in it and it is not haram' (forbidden) under Islamic Sharia law.'[More]

The Mahdi is coming!

The world is presently at its most wicked. It is beyond human help. It requires only a nudge to implode and prepare for the divine ruler, the Saheb-ul-Zaman (the Mahdi, the Lord of the Age) to come and set it aright. But this time around, a group of believers with tremendous resources are intent upon forcing the issue, making the conditions so dire that they leave the reluctant Saheb-ul-Zaman no choice but to appear and assume his universal reign.
