BOSTON-- Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is selling two of his homes.

A spokesman for the former Massachusetts governor says Romney and his wife, Ann, have put their 9,500-square-foot Deer Valley, Utah ski lodge on the market for $5.25 million, and are also selling the suburban Boston home where they raised their five sons. The 6,400-square-foot
Colonial on 2.5 acres in Belmont is expected to fetch about $3 million.

Spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom said the Romneys are "downsizing and simplifying."

The Romneys still own a $10 million home on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro, N.H. and a $12 million beachfront compound in La Jolla, Calif.

Fehrnstrom said the couple intends to buy a condominium in the Boston area.

I love his house, it drips b.l.o.o.d, it was built off the bones of all the corporations and companies his company cannibalized.

Romney left Bain & Company to co-found a spin-off private equity investment firm, Bain Capital. During the 14 years he headed the company, Bain Capital's average annual internal rate of return on realized investments was 113 percent, making money primarily through leveraged buyouts. He invested in or bought many well-known companies such as Staples, Brookstone, Domino's, Sealy Corporation and Sports Authority (these are the few he left "standing"). Smaller companies were dismantled and thousands of people lost their jobs while he deposited the profits.

But that's okay, because, soon he will be a Mormon god over his own planet. In the meantime, I doubt that the Middle Class can survive another ruthless Bush-Capitalist in the White House .

Big surprise, he's a millionaire! So out of the mainstream, with his real estate and his weird religion.

The vulgar dog torturer with the magic undies is grooming himself for 2012. Shedding some embarrassments that the working class knownothing core constituency just might find rankling. From now on the fam will just rent those hideaways in the exclusive resort areas. Cheap, simple, and a much better image. Eff you mittens.

Whoever decorated the place - or sold them the furniture- is still laughing their asses off. The Romneys probably paid a fortune for that crap.

This place would NOT make it into Architecture Digest.

It seems like the rich are all trying to raise cash. What are they doing with their cash is the million dollar question. Does he think homes will go down a lot more? Or does he plan to take advantage of those who lose their homes?

Or are they buying up stocks and property overseas. I really would love to know.

Nice views. Comfortable looking rooms. Furniture not necessarily to my liking, but otherwise a house with good bones, as it were. But the problem is what, that it is owned by Mitt Romney? People got paychecks building it, remember? I'm not a Romney fan nor apologist, it just strikes me as ironic that people who are venting about the rich, wish (albeit secretly) in their own hearts that they too, could be rich enough to afford these mansions. He made much of his money in a heartless capitalist way, but unfortunately, that's the nature of our economic system, and, it was legal.

I don't begrudge Romney his bucks. What I have a problem with is the fact that he's perfectly willing to let other Americans starve to death while he sits in million-dollar luxury, that he pontificates about American values while he goes out for a round of golf with Buffy, Binky and Bootsie. That he made his millions by dismantling companies and throwing people out on the street. Please. If he would just shut up and stay home in his mansion, I'd say more power to him. But he won't shut up.

Anyone who buys it is going to have to gut the interior and start from scratch. Unless Daniel Boone decides to move in.
