Holiday – Poem For Children

July28

A Holiday

A time for the mind to relax
And your worries to fade away
A place that soothes the eyes
Where you wouldn’t be everyday
A sound that whispers in your ear
Demanding nothing but joy
A space where you can be yourself
And there is no need to be coy
Your mind and body are at peace
All your stresses seem to fade away
There’s never anything quite like
Being on a holiday

Haiku for the lives taken in Norway

July26

I wrote this haiku for the innocent lives taken in Norway. My thoughts go out to them and their families in this troublesome time. No one deserves to have their life taken from them at such a young age. May they rest in peace, and may their families have the strength needed to get by. R.I.P

Haiku

His humanity
Overtaken by evil
Stealing youthful lives

Feeling Poems

July25

A Grudge

A grudge is like a deadly storm
That could easily abash the mind
It’s surrounded by sharp thorns
Which make the heart go blind
It constantly whispers into the ear
Making thoughts and actions foul
Falling into the trap of a grudge
Can poison the innocent soul

Love Poems – Heart-break

July24

Heart-break

It wasn’t the unbearable pain
Caused by the shattering of my heart
Or even the unimaginable thought
Of happiness while we are apart
I can get over the things you said
As we constantly nattered and argued
Truth can be found behind all the lies
That you shamelessly issued
It was the concept that the one I loved,
I cared for and I trusted was you
Yet you stormed into my life and before
I knew it you tore my heart in two

Aging Poems

July17

No Regrets

A grey old man lies by himself
While watching his time fly past
He analyses the live he’s lived
And wonders how it went so fast
Wishes he had appreciated
Something small like a smile
Or given up a few hours
To enjoy life for a while
He watches himself fade away
And in the stillness of his mind
His mistakes and missed opportunities
Slowly begin to unwind
He repeats to himself all the time
As his face wrinkles and hands are cold
“I wish I could be young again
And have no regrets as I grow old”

Useful, amazing
Working, walking, thriving
