BOMBSHELL: Recording Of Piers Morgan Admitting Knowledge Of Phone Hacking

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

BERJAYA

BOMBSHELL! A British blogger claims limey CNN darling Piers Morgan is complicit in the phone hacking scandal rocking the Murdoch empire while Morgan was editor at the Daily Mirror and says he has a recording to prove it.

Piers Morgan, a Rupert Murdoch protege and staunch defender of his former boss, was inexplicably hired by CNN to replace the retiring Larry King. Morgan’s CNN show has constantly underperformed in the 9PM timeslot.

As reported in Forbes, Paul Staines, who blogs under the name Guido Fawkes:

Piers Morgan was editor of a the British tabloid, the Daily Mirror, at a time when many British tabloid reporters were committing illegal hacking of voicemails. Morgan has vociferously denied personal involvement in or knowledge of anything like that under his watch but, a prominent political blogger claims to have a recording that proves otherwise.

If it delivers as advertised, it will be the first major expansion of the hacking scandal outside the confines of News Corp. So far, the only proven instances of voicemail hacking took place at the News of the World tabloid, although there have been numerous unsubstantiated claims of others. Despite Morgan’s denial, the Mirror’s parent company said it would undertake an internal investigation after a former employee, James Hipwell, was quoted saying hacking was commonplace at the paper during his tenure there, which overlapped Morgan’s.

A CNN spokeswoman declined to comment.

I wrote to CNN complaining about their decision to employ Piers Morgan in light of his alleged involvement in the phone hacking scandal. As expected, they punted the issue and sent this reply:

Hello Christopher,

Thank you for contacting CNN. Piers Morgan talked to Wolf Blitzer 1-on-1 about this on Tuesday, July 19. Here’s what he had to say: http://bit.ly/noQNDw

Sincerely yours, LeAnn A.
Viewer Communications Management

The link goes to a CNN interview between Wolf Blitzer and Piers Morgan where Morgan denies any knowledge or involvement with phone hacking on his watch at either the News of the World or the Daily Mirror.

If Paul Staines delivers a recording placing Piers Morgan at the heart of the phone hacking scandal, I wonder if how long until CNN: The Most Trusted Name in News, sends him packing?

Editor Addition: A reader from London just sent this link to me. Thanks, Nigel.

Sen. Bernie Sanders ‘Obama Should Face Primary Challenge’

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

BERJAYA

Sen. Bernie Sanders (VT) an Independent and arguably the only genuine liberal in the U.S. senate, says President Obama could benefit from a primary challenger over the next year.

Speaking to talk show host Thom Hartmann over the weekend, Sanders said:

“My suggestion is, I think one of the reasons the president has been able to move so far to the right is that there is no primary opposition to him, and I think it would do this country a good deal of service if people started thinking about candidates out there to begin contrasting what is a progressive agenda as opposed to what Obama is doing. I think it would be a good idea if President Obama faced some primary opposition.”

Sanders is livid at President Obama for offering to slash Social Security and Medicare in order to reach a budget deal with Tea Party Republicans.

Cuts to America’s safety net programs could send millions of retired and disabled into a death spiral, as they struggle to pay for the rising costs of food, rent and medicine.

Palin Docu-Fantasy is an Epic Bomb

Monday, July 25, 2011

BERJAYA

The numbers are in for Mama Grifter’s docu-fantasy and it’s an epic bomb.

Titled the “The Undefeated”, it was released in 14 Tea Party-friendly locations, it grossed just $24,000 the first weekend. This translates to $1,714 a screen.

Worse still for what what is seen by Palin’s handlers as a potential rollout for her 2012 presidential pipe dream, box office receipts declined another 63 percent the second week for the docu-fantasy.

If you just can’t get enough of the grifter from Wasilla, a “special edition” DVD containing additional new content will soon be sold at Walmart.

Christian Fundamentalist Kills 92, Mostly Teenagers, In Norway

Saturday, July 23, 2011

BERJAYA

Norway’s orderly existence was shattered yesterday when Anders Behring Breivik, a Christian fundamentalist, with rightwing views, detonated a bomb in a government building in downtown Oslo killing at seven people.

He promptly traveled to nearby Utoya island and dressed in a police uniform, opened fire on a youth group of teenagers. At least 85 people, some as young as 16, were killed on the island. Dead bodies were seen floating in the water surrounding Utoya.

Altogether, at least 92 dead in the attacks, the deadliest on Norwegian soil since World War II.

On his Facebook page, Anders Behring Breivik described himself as a Christian and a conservative. He listed his interests as hunting, body building and freemasonry. His profile listed him as single. The Facebook profile has since been taken down. Police said Breivik posted on websites with Christian fundamentalist tendencies.

The Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang quoted a friend as saying that Breivik turned to rightwing extremism when in his late-20s. The newspaper also said that he participated in online forums expressing strong nationalistic, anti-immigrant views.

Editor Note: Unfortunately, the death toll in Norway has risen to 93.

Rick Santorum Seen Here Deep-Throating a DooDoo Cone

On a sweltering hot summer day, perennial homophobe, Rick Santorum is seen here deep-throating a DooDoo cone. He looks to me like he’s had some practice at this.

“Nigger Lake” No More

Friday, July 22, 2011

BERJAYA

The Mason-Dixon line was thought to delineate the racist south from the more evolved north but, in New York state, map researchers have discovered “Nigger Lake” and “Nigger Road” and “Nigger River.”

Moreover, in our so-called post-racial, modern world, New Yorker are utterly mystified as to the precise origins of the names. Local Hamilton County resident and historian, Tom Bissell, 83, said:

“I’d like to say, ‘Talk to one of the old folks around here,’ but the trouble with that is I’m 83.”

Now, New York is changing the name of “Nigger Lake” on to “unnamed lake.” How about Rainbow Lake in honor of the passage of marriage equality in New York?

Panetta to Certify End of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ Today

Friday, July 22, 2011

BERJAYA

17 years and 14,500 soldiers later, the viciously homophobic prohibition on gay and lesbian Americans serving in the military known as ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ ends today.

Newly minted Pentagon chief Leon Panetta will sign the certification today, ending the 17-year-old ban and marking a new era of U.S. military policy and equality.

Panetta’s decision, which was expected, comes two weeks after the chiefs of the military services said ending the ban would not affect military readiness and ending the ban fulfills pledge President Barack Obama made in the 2008 campaign.

The repeal of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ was signed into law last December.

Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ was adopted during the Clinton administration. The policy has resulted in the separation of more than 14,500 men and women from the military.

The ban has been the target of numerous legal challenges, including a Federal court ruling in July that ordered the government to stop enforcing the ban.

BREAKING: John Edwards Owes Feds More than $2 Million Dollars

Thursday, July 21, 2011

BERJAYA

The Federal Election Commission approved a final audit on Thursday concluding that former presidential candidate John Edwards’ campaign owes the Federal government more than $2 million.

Edwards, a former conserva-Dem senator from North Carolina faces other legal battles.

He was indicted on June 3 for allegedly misusing nearly $1 million in campaign funds to help cover up his affair with Rielle Hunter, a campaign videographer, while he was running for president in 2008 and his late wife, Elizabeth, was battling cancer.

Rielle Hunter had a child by Edwards as a result of the affair.

The FEC voted 6-0 to approve the June 23 memorandum from its chief compliance officer and audit division, which stated the Edwards campaign owed $2,278,315.

At one time, Edwards was said to be on then-Sen. Barack Obama’s short list for vice president.

If Election Were Today, Obama Would Lose

Thursday, July 21, 2011

BERJAYA

If the election were held today, President Obama would lose his bid for reelection.

A new Public Policy Polling survey released on Wednesday shows for the first time since July, Obama no longer leads Republican front-runner Mitt Romney in the 2012 election race. Romney has pulled into a tie with Obama at 45 percent.

More Americans now disapprove of Obama’s overall job performance at 48 percent than approve 46 percent.

The reasons for this should be obvious by now to everyone.

On Thursday, the Labor Department said first time claims for state unemployment benefits increased 10,000 to a seasonally adjusted 418,000. A total of 7.33 million Americans are were claiming unemployment benefits.

According to GALLUP, Mr. Obama has had 10 consecutive sub-50% job approval quarters. One of the worst in modern politics.

President Obama’s terrible job approval numbers are, in my opinion, directly tied to his willingness to slash Social Security and Medicare in order to get a debt deal with the Republicans in the House.

An online poll on Ed Schultz’ webpage asked:

Would You Ever Vote for Anyone Who Cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid?

94% said No, while 6% said Yes. A no brainer. But President Obama can’t seem to wrap his brain around this central truth.

Rabbi Yehuda Levin Blames Gay Marriage for Murder of 8-Year Old Boy

Wednesday, July 20, 2011

Please meet Rabbi Yehuda Levin. This filthy piece of shit says the gruesome and senseless murder of 8-year old Leiby Kletzky occurred because the Jewish Orthodox community did not stop marriage equality from becoming law in New York. Rabbi Yehuda Levin is the Rabbi du jour of the National Organization of Marriage.

New York became the sixth state to legalize gay marriage on June 25th, 2011.

On July 11th, a lunatic named Levi Aron lured 8-year-old Leiby Kletzky into his car as the boy walked home from school in Brooklyn. Aron took Kletzky to his home where he proceeded to drug, kill and dismember the poor boy. But according to Rabbi Yehuda Levin, it’s the gays and the passage of marriage equality are to blame.

Rabbi Yehuda Levin stokes the flames at 7:00 minute mark.

“They wanted rights, then they wanted to adopt, they wanted special protections, and ultimately they wanted marriage and we all know that we did precious little. If those three or four thousand people, at the direction of their leaders and their common sense, would have come out against marriage, against this final nail in the coffin of morality, maybe we wouldn’t have had to had this episode replay itself. This came in the very aftermath of the marriage bill, my dear friends, and not doing anything.”

Listen:

As I stated earlier, the National Organization for Marriage invited Rabbi Yehuda Levin to join them at a protest rally against New York marriage equality shortly before the vote. Dear Rabbi proudly accepted their invitation.

I’m waiting for the National Organization for Marriage to denounce Rabbi Yehuda Levin’s vile comments but, so far only crickets from Maggie Gallagher and the gang.

You really have to wonder what kind of person or group exploits the murder of an innocent 8-year old boy to further their agenda of hatred and bigotry?

Is Michelle Bachmann a Drug Addict?

Tuesday, July 19, 2011

BERJAYABERJAYA

Reports are surfacing Tea Party queen, Rep. Michelle Bachmann, may have serious health problems and could be addicted to powerful, prescription painkillers.

According to media sources, here, here, here, and here, Bachmann suffers from debilitating headaches so severe that she’s been admitted to the hospital on at least three occasions seeking treatment.

A report Tuesday in the Daily Caller says Bachmann “suffers from stress-induced medical episodes that she characterizes as severe headaches.”

Rep. Bachmann admits to suffering from migraine headaches and her campaign press secretary Alice Stewart told CNN, “Like millions of Americans, Congresswoman Bachmann suffers with migraines and they are under control when treated with medication.” However, Stewart declined to say what type of medication.

But the Daily Caller story suggested a far more serious malady and said Bachmann’s headaches occur once a week on average and “incapacitate” her for days at time.

Of particular concern to some around her is the significant amount of pain medication Bachmann takes to address her condition.

One former campaign aide says Bachmann’s staff is “constantly” in contact with her doctors to tweak the types and amounts of medicine she is taking. Her controversial husband, Dr. Marcus Bachmann, reportedly helps her manage her medications.

All of which begs the central question?

If Michelle Bachmann is taking powerful narcotics to treat the pain of her headaches and, management of her medications require a team effort who includes her campaign staff as well as her controversial husband, then is Rep. Michelle Bachmann fit to serve as this nation’s next president?

The answer is a resounding no!

60 Percent of Texan High School Students Suspended Before Graduation

Tuesday, July 19, 2011

BERJAYA

Texas Gov. Rick Perry might be feeling the call to run for president, but an appalling picture of public education in his state is beginning emerge.

According to a report in the New York Times, an astronomical 60% of Texas middle and high school students have been suspended at least once before graduation. One in seven students faced suspension eleven times for infractions.

The study was conducted by the Justice Center at the Council of State Governments, a nonpartisan group, examined one million student records.

Texas ranks near the bottom in education funding per pupil at 44th nationally. By contrast, New Jersey and New York rank first and second respectively in education funding per student.

It will be very interesting watching Rick Perry defend the troubling record of public education in his state under his leadership.

Michelle Bachmann’s Lesbian Step-Sister is a Fan of Obama

Sunday, July 17, 2011

Tea Party queen, Rep. Michelle Bachmann is known for many things including being married to a man who operates a so-called reparative Christian clinic that “prays away the gay,” supporting a Constitutional amendment that makes marriage equality illegal in all 50 states, and uttering insanely homophobic comments in 2004 that gays are ‘part of Satan’.

But I bet you didn’t know she has a lesbian step-sister?

Please meet Helen LaFave and her partner, Nia Wronski. The women are seen here speaking to a reporter in 2009 at Obama’s inauguration and speak glowingly of the new Democratic, African-American president.

Sarah Palin Movie Debuts to Empty Theater

Sunday, July 17, 2011

BERJAYA

Despite fears to the contrary by some in the blogosphere, the new Sarah Palin movie was met with empty movie theaters seats. When will people accept what I’ve said all along about Mama Grifter? This heffa is less popular than an outbreak of herpes.

A writer for the Atlantic reports his experience at an AMC theater in Orange County, CA — the epicenter of Republican politics in California.

Our airport is named after John Wayne. Ronald Reagan remains a hero to many. Even Richard Nixon’s association with this place is treated as a point of pride.

“The Undefeated,” [is a] feature length documentary about Sarah Palin.

Jamie Watkins, 22, is a Missouri native, which qualifies her as a real American. She only recently moved to Southern California, and her little sister, Jessie, age 18, was visiting for the first time.

“So, um, what made you come out here tonight?”

“We’re going to Disneyland tomorrow,” Jamie said, “but she just got here, so we decided we should go out.”

“We looked online for the latest movie playing,” Jessie added. “But all the Harry Potters were sold out, and then we saw ‘The Undeafeated.’ We don’t even actually know what we’re seeing.”

“Well welcome to California,” I said. “You’re about to see a documentary about Sarah Palin.”

“Oh, really?” they said, and started giggling again. I think they were expecting an action flick. When I returned to my seat, I thought maybe I’d talk to them after the movie, and get the perspective of two people who went in with no expectations. But they only lasted 20 minutes before walking out.

After that, it is strictly accurate to say that the theater was empty, except for me.

Did Obama Embellish His Mother’s Deathbed Fight?

Saturday, July 16, 2011

BERJAYA

A new book challenges President Barack Obama’s carefully constructed mythology about his late mother’s deathbed fight with her health insurance company.

Throughout the 2008 presidential campaign, then-candidate Barack Obama regaled audiences with the story of how his mother, Ann Durham, hospitalized with terminal cancer, waged a valiant fight with her employer-provided health insurance, to pay claims for her medical expenses.

Obama’s narrative was a compelling argument for ending pre-existing condition exclusions the vast majority of health insurers underwrite into policies.

In his second debate with Sen. John McCain of Arizona, in October 2008, Obama said:

“For my mother to die of cancer at the age of 53 and have to spend the last months of her life in the hospital room arguing with insurance companies because they’re saying that this may be a pre-existing condition and they don’t have to pay her treatment, there’s something fundamentally wrong about that.”

However, in a New York Times review of “A Singular Woman: The Untold Story of Barack Obama’s Mother,” by author Janny Scott, Scott quotes from correspondence from the president’s mother to assert that the 1995 dispute centered around a Cigna disability insurance policy and that her health insurer had in fact, reimbursed nearly all of his mother’s medical expenses, without argument.

On Wednesday, after repeated requests for comment that The Times first made in mid-June, shortly after the book’s release, a White House spokesman did not dispute  Ms. Scott’s account but suggested Mr. Obama’s told the story based on his recollection of events that took place “more than 15 years ago.”

Obama Tries to Breathe New Life Into ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’

Friday, July 15, 2011

BERJAYA

Well boys and girls, our “fiercest advocate”, President Obama, is at it again.

After the Ninth Circuit federal court told the government to stop enforcing ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,’ the Pentagon reportedly stopped discharging gay men and lesbians and started permitting openly gay soldiers to enlist, the Obama administration wasted no time filing an emergency motion with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals pleading with the court to reconsider its order to vacate the stay.

The Log Cabin Republicans — who filed the original case, have the details:

“This latest maneuver by the President continues a pattern of doublespeak that all Americans should find troubling. All this does is further confuse the situation for our men and women in uniform,” said R. Clarke Cooper, Log Cabin Republicans Executive Director, combat veteran and captain in the United States Army Reserve. “Let me be clear – the president is asking the court for the power to continue threatening servicemembers with investigation and discharge, and the right to turn away qualified Americans from military service for no reason other than their sexual orientation. Even if the administration never uses that power, it is still wrong, and the Ninth Circuit was clear that there is no justification for continuing the violation of servicemembers’ constitutional rights. ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ is an offense to American values that should have been gone long ago. It is shameful that a president who has taken credit for opposing the policy is taking extreme measures to keep it on life support.”

Got that? Despite the fact ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ was repealed in 2010 and President Obama signed the repeal bill into law, his hapless administration is trying to defend it.

Can 2012 get here any sooner?

GALLUP: Obama “Losing” To Generic GOP 2012 Candidate

Thursday, July 14, 2011

President Obama’s reelection prospects do not look good at this point.

Registered voters, by a margin of 47% to 39%, now say they are more likely to vote for the “Republican Party’s candidate for president” than for President Obama in the 2012 election, according to the latest GALLUP survey.

2012: Barack Obama vs. Generic Republican -- Based on Registered Voters

George W. Bush had higher job approval ratings in the year before his reelection bid than President Obama does now, helping to explain why Obama fares so poorly on the generic ballot in the year prior to the election year.

George W. Bush’s July 2003 average was 60%, while President Obama’s latest weekly average is a tepid 46%. Far below that of his predecessor.
