I don't know about you but I needed some good news. The NFL Lockout is over and Dead Spin used it as an excuse to drop a whole lotta F-bombs. My addition: fuck you Reggie Bush, take your overpriced ass elsewhere.
I'm looking forward to a bit of good natured woofing with Athenae and Doc over the season opening tussle between the Saints and Packers. Then, I'll resume rooting for the Pack against everyone else. Y'all better do likewise with the Saints or I'll sick my goons on you...
One more fusillade: fuck the Falcons.

One of the first blog-based books, the anthology Special Plans examines Feith's role in misleading America into war. Buy from
Most assuredly Fuck da Falcons. And I'll be pulling for the Boys in Black & Geauxld from my West Coast locale, and the 'phins except if they play the Saints. :)

Thank the fuck Christ. I was afraid I'd have to take up church or some stupid shit this fall.

You can always go punch something at the gym.

Whoa. Packers vs. Saints. Scout's head may explode.
A.

Yup.

"Fuck the Falcons!" should go without saying.
But it's much more fun to say it. Fuck the Cowboys, also, too.
Reggie would be more productive working the late-night shift at the Taco Bell in Slidell. But he'd still be vastly overpaid at $7.35 and hour.

I had to look up the date (September 2002) but I remember watching (on TV) Saints center Jerry Fontenot absolutely flatten a Green Bay linebacker or safety with probably the best block I've ever seen. Instant pancake. I think it sprung the runner or receiver for a touchdown.
Later they cut to a sideline shot of Fontenot, who was sporting a great big grin.
Funny enough, I see Fontenot's a coach for Green Bay these days.

Athenae,
My head's essploded already. A bunch of Packer fans who live in NOLA will be attending that game. I can't even steer clear of Green Bay that weekend because of a family wedding. I'll be the one drinking multiple old-fashioneds at the cash bar.

Skoal Vikings! And a pox o' both your houses!

I'm also Packers-Saints conflicted. Grew up watching the Ain'ts, later moved to Wisconsin.
Oh well, it's not whether you win or lose; it's how drunk you get.

As a Steeler fan, I'll root for the Saints. {:-/

Oh, I'm not conflicted. Rooting for the Packers, of course. With lots of alcohol in me.
Posted by: Maitri | July 25, 2011 at 19:57
@Sandman: The Vikings? The team that resorted to Bret Favre? The Buffalo Bills of the '70's? Sheesh.

When are the teevee trucks gonna start camping out in Kiln, MS?
Posted by: mass | July 26, 2011 at 08:32
@mass: When did they ever leave? Speaking of my ex-boyfriend and the dirty birds, his agent-who-will-not-be-ditched Bus Cook has fed to the rumor mill that the Falcons are once again courting Favre. Perfect. Marriage made in heaven.
Hey, Adrastos, any idea where that awful #saintsyabitch hashtag came from?

OK scraped my head back together.....mmm let's see.
GO Pack!!!!
This will be a great game. Of course I always root for the Packers...and always root for the Saints except if playing the Packers.
The Packers were not able to have the traditional post SB trip to the White House because of the lock out. Packers are hoping to be able to go now and they all want to see Woodson/Obama shake hands. (If you recall Obama didn't really support Pack even after Bears game and Woodson said oh yeah well we'll see you in the WH) I do hope they go
BTW one of my fav signs from WI protests was a teacher who had a "Woodson for Governor" sign. Woodson of course publicly came out in support of workers. He's our guy. Oh and other fav signs were several saying "Bears fan supports WI." That's earth shaking change there

After what the fucking Saints did to Bret Favre a couple of years ago Ihave nothing good to say about them. They cheated, they went out to maim/hurt him purposely & when that didn't work they paid of the damn refs, who, conveniently went blind. Sorry, the Saints suck.
