Intro:

Things went a whole lot smoother yesterday and hopefully starting with this post, participation will go up, as we start heading into more familiar territory for some of you. So if you know the rules, lets get into it.

Today's post might be completely one-sided. After the video game crash that Atari and their buddies caused last generation, nobody gave a F@#% about video games anymore. It took an ex-toy company, now video game company from Japan to come over and change that. That company was Nintendo, and alone they started up a whole new gaming generation and set new rules for what would now be the video game industry.

The Nintendo Entertainment System would become legend for what it came to offer the industry and gamers from all over. Even if you hate Nintendo in 2011, you can't deny the impact this little grey box had and how it would come to open more doors for the industry later on. The NES was the definition of gaming in the 80's, and is still today known as an icon.

Of course Nintendo wasn't alone during this generation. Atari was still around with their new 7800 console doing the same old thing. And Sega would come to the States for the first time as well debuting with their Sega Master System console.

Funny enough, both the NES and Master System were redesigns of consoles they had in Japan. The Nintendo Famicom, (short for Family Computer), was redesigned specifically for American audiences and given the new name Nintendo Entertainment System so it would appeal more. And Sega redesigned the Sega SG-1000 Mark III as the Sega Master System for the exact same reasons.

So without further ado, I present to you the 8bit generation!!!

For me its obviously NES. Why? MEGA MAN B@#$%!!!!!!

Plus I actually had one and played various games on it that I grew to love and still love. Its just an excellent console and a true legend of a console even though I played it years after it was released and changed gaming history forever!!! Classic gaming doesn't get classier than it!!!

Here's the series so far:
