Smooth Brass

The etsy shop, Secret Base | Bee Alice King has a fantastic assortment of decorative trinkets that could become part of any party or celebration. How amazing would these little instrument gems look stitched on a place card? And solid brass to boot? Okay, now your place cards can also be your favors! Especially if your theme is heavy on the instrumental side. Think Jazz - as in these fabulous photos from The Sartorialist (a couple of weeks ago).
That's it for now folks, have a wonderful weekend! {I hope you all have summer Fridays :}

Many Thanks

Pretty little details from across the blogosphere that would surely show thankfulness to your loved ones.
I hope you all have a gorgeously splendid Thanksgiving and celebrate it with your most favorite family and friends and food. We are off to MN to spend the next week with our family, which will be nice and relaxing, oh so much to be thankful for, I could just pinch myself.

Sweet & Simple

How cute and simple is this cookie favor idea from Lovelorn Unicorn? I love when DIY projects are so simple that just a few photographs get the instructions across.

I love this bandana inspired tablescape Country Living has created. What a great way to incorporate your favorite fabric into your wedding or dinner party! They have so many great ideas on their website - I am on it almost everyday.

Thoughtful Day for Sunday Suppers

I am sure by now most of you have seen or heard about Sunday Suppers; the past couple of weeks tons of beautiful images have been floating around the internet which has been great! Karen Mordechai, one of the ladies behind Sunday Suppers just sent over these photos of all of the paper items I designed for the Moroccan supper. At the same event I also designed all of the patterns for Amy Atlas's dessert table so I decided to use the same custom designed mandala but compose it to better fit the tablescape and blend with the gorgeous moroccan tiles that were the centerpiece. The patterns were scaled to fit appropriately with each item, whether it was the belly band that surrounded the menu or the tags that hung on the lemon preserves. I just love the yellow of the lemons with the turquoise and gray of the favor tag. A great color combo! All of the menu and recipe cards had their own unique custom designed border that complimented the colorful patterns and mandala. It was such a fun project to work on with so much immense talent. So much work goes into one of these suppers and fortunately for all of us it is beautifully documented by Karen!

Moroccan Inspired Deliciousness

Here are some more photos of Amy's dessert table that I created patterns for! As you know, so many lovely and talented women worked together on this and Amy has a great breakdown of all of our contributions on her blog!
Have a wonderful weekend!
I promise to resume blogging more soon! Motherhood - which btw is amazing, running a business & designing, and enjoying summer with the family has taken over almost all of my time!!

How gorgeous are these baby shower favors and decor from D-Tales Event? I love the buttoned up favors and jelly beans in salt & pepper shakers, such beautifully sweet ideas! And the simple flower arrangements are done with such sophistication.

Couture Choiseul

One of my favorite shops in all of Paris was called Couture Choiseul. Sadly, I can't seem to find it's website on the internet, but if you are interested in checking it out next time you are in Paris, it is right across the street from UltraMod (here is the location).
Couture Choiseul had an amazing selection of buttons, tassels, ribbons, trim, you name it, both old and new. A definite dream store for a designer, craft maker and admirer of beautiful things. I wasn't able to get any photos of the inside or products, I was already scarred from getting yelled at one too many times by this point. But I did try to capture the feeling and the beauties inside the store through it's display windows. Why is Paris soooo good?
Note: Thankfully a reader corrected me on the actual name of the store, it is Couture Choiseul and not Mercerie as shown in their window. Thank you Alice from Paris!

I absolutely love little stores with beautifully curated curiosities such as these at Bell'occhio. If I lived nearby I would be in there every day!

A Modern Farm Wedding

Over the last 6 months, I have exchanged quite a few emails with fellow bride and blogger Christina of A Farm Fresh Wedding. She and her husband just got married earlier this Fall at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, one of my most favorite places on earth! For any bride looking to get married there, she has posted a really great question and answer about her experiences there.

The nosey blogger in me then went to her very talented photographer, Sarah Sloboda's blog and saw these amazing detail shots of some of the ceramic pieces Christina herself created for their wedding. So lovely, I can't wait to see more pics!

Colorful, Creative Favors

I love the idea of having these mini-colored pencils used as favors at a wedding. How cute would it be to put your label on top of theirs? With a little a pad of paper, possibly monogramed, it would be the perfect favor set! Who said only the kids get to have fun coloring at weddings?

Elsje Designs: Gorgeous!

Elsje Designs has some of the most beautiful wedding designs and styling I have seen to date. They are located in South Africa, so if you happen to be in that part of the world you are lucky! I am so impressed by the scope of their work, they offer a little bit of everything including calligraphy!
