Summer Style

I'm super into Built By Wendy's new Spring collection. I haven't been this excited about their clothing in a couple of years, so I'm looking forward to spending a little extra this year on my summer wardrobe.

Thoughtful Day in Utterly Engaged!

Hi everyone! I haven't been around much on the blog, but thank you for continuing to stop by. I'm excited to share a spread I created for the latest issue of Utterly Engaged! They asked me a while back to pick out some of my favorite bridal fashion and decor for a modern and white wedding, inspired by the photo of this amazing boutique. {boutique photos by nathalie bearden}

It was perfect timing because I had just designed a custom invite for a couple with a similar aesthetic, so I started with the invitation and picked out a few things that would pair well for a modern and hip wedding.

The dress is by Alix & Kelly and I love the simple and slim silhouette of this dress highlights the most beautiful features of the bride; her face and upper torso.

Under every wedding dress there should be a pair of rock star fluorescent green strappy sandals by Loeffler and Randall.

For the bridesmaid's dress I chose a short and tailored dress by JCrew in a fun punchy (yet subtle) color like lime green which compliments the bride's dress (& shoes!).

Sarah Magid's cakes are always organic and delightful pops of maximal color.

And how perfect would they look on these modern cake stands by Iacoli Mcallister.

And last but not least, the soft and feminine florals by Quatre Coeur are beautifully refreshing. Remember this shoot? I've been fortunate to work with Quatre Coeur before, so I immediately thought of them. {floral photo by allan zepeda}

Small & Good

I was gifted one of these Comme Des Garcons wallets a while ago. And my friends, it is the perfect wallet. It's small, efficient and easy to keep organized. If you are searching near and far for a nice little gift for your stylish, but hard to buy for friend, sister, brother, etc. this is perfect. And the great thing is they are available in a variety of price ranges.

Cover Pretty

Anthropologie has a few amazingly beautiful shrugs available right now that would compliment any fancy dress just lovely.

Grecian

Browsing through Shop Bop the other day, I came across this dress that would be a nice wedding dress for a more casual, low key wedding. And it's a great price - $233. It is cream, not white, which may not be many brides choice for color, but it is still really pretty and for the right bride, it could be perfect.

Soft & Lovely

Soft Gallery just might be the hippest and coolest clothing store for kids I've ever seen. Every photo, child & product is so beautifully shot and styled. Their product photos are more like works of art. I would love to own these clothes for myself! And that feather headpiece, forget about it...I want one now!

Fancy Finds

Lately I have been loving short wedding dresses, much more than longer gowns. There is something about them that seems more fun, celebratory, more like a party dress, which I love. This dress in particular is just perfect!



I have to say, The English Dept. sells the perfect boleros for a wedding dress. They are just gorgeous!

Sale Season...

Saks Fifth Avenue is having a Bridal sale at their Fifth Ave. store from now until Jan. 20th. A great time to get a deal for a Spring/Summer wedding!

And a side note, Saks is closing all but two of their bridal salons throughout the U.S. (NYC and 90210 are not closing) and I bet you could get some amazing deals right now!

A Girl Can Dream...

This gown is part of J. Mendels Pre-Fall 2009 collection. I love the colors and the draping is absolutely stunning. A modern grecian goddess gown I could only dream to wear!

Add a Little Flair...

The last issue of Lucky had a great selection of brooches, which are always a great way to add a little style and flair to your outfit. This top Jubilee pin in particular is my favorite, it has so much character and color. I, for one, have always been obsessed with little pops of color here and there. I also love the bottom simple Long Stemmed Iris pin, it is more understated but would still add drama to any outfit.

Something Old...

Cherished online has an amazing selection of vintage bridal gowns and accessories. I especially love these hair pieces and crowns, they are so glamorous.

The Perfect Evening Dress

This past weekend I went to a wedding after party and the bride was wearing this dress from Dior. Lately I have been obsessed with short wedding dresses and this one was just perfect, especially for an evening wedding.

A great idea...

The offsite wedding after party is such a good idea if you want to have a really small wedding and reception or can't afford to invite all of your friends. It is a total win win situation, you get to spend quality time with all of your family, and then continue to celebrate with all of your friends after the dinner!

Bridal Works of Art

Show stopping, jaw dropping, extremely high fashion bridal gowns from French Vogue. Can you imagine wearing a piece of art like this?!? I think my favorite is the 2nd to last Givenchy gown, how perfect would this be for a winter wedding?
