365 Lessons-Lesson 358: Have a Silent Night

BERJAYAIt's Christmas Eve. It's still morning and in honor of the silent night I will be having tonight, this is going to be my last twenty minutes or so on the computer. I know that Christmas is a time to gather with family and friends and converse, but silence with family and friends can be a beautiful thing, too. Staring at a tree or a candle or the snow can bring you into the present moment where you can really feel your moments and the time spent with another.

This Christmas, I am spending time alone with my husband, Yoon. He hasn't taken three days off in a row in almost a year. Time for a break. Time for a silent night.

So off we go by bus. We are headed to hotel in downtown Seattle. Might be hard to believe that one could have a silent night downtown, but we will. We look forward to lighting some candles and staring off at the beautiful city skyline and contemplating the year that has just passed. So many things happen in a year.

So to you and yours, Happy Holidays. I hope you will pause this evening, even if it is just for a moment, and experience the silence and witness the beauty that is around you. Peace to you all, Katherine
