So … I don’t usually showcase the sites I develop on this blog, mostly because I sign a lot of silly contracts with designers and clients … This time, though, I have to make an exception. Not only am I allowed to talk about it, I’m also quite proud of how this one turned out.
This little gem was developed on the StudioPress Genesis Framework, as most of my projects are. It includes a lot of custom-built widgets and a fairly awesome image slider — one that doesn’t look like every other image slider out there. It has a retro-fem style that I really like.
The SITSGirls website was by far, the most girlie site I’ve ever worked on, this great design by Renee of StudioBold almost made me loose my sanity. Not because it was particularly difficult to implement, but because life decided to throw every possible curve-ball at me during the 2 week development timeline.
Some features:
- jQuery Featured Accordion Image Slider — Custom built.
- Custom featured post and page widgets that extend the abilities of the stock Genesis offerings by enabling a secondary image.
- Custom category and page menu system.
- Flexible sidebars — an extension of the awesome Simple Sidebars widget.
- 14 widget areas on the front page — giving the client tons of flexibility without needing a coder to make changes.
- Tons of custom everything.
So — whatcha think?
