The Left 4 Dead Blog has also been updated with more on Cold Stream testing and the following snippet on the next DLC:
Midnight Riders?
The upcoming DLC is our experiment in not having a story tied to the DLC. While we are working on that, we also wanted to keep expanding the story and world of Left 4 Dead. We like comics, in fact we just released one yesterday for TeamFortress 2. So we were thinking about another comic. What about one starring the Midnight Riders? Vote in this week's in-game poll and let us know what you think.
The Super Meat Boy Level Editor is FINALLY out on Steam! We always wanted to release a basic level editor, but the idea started to balloon when we decided to buy servers and program a fully automated level portal (Super Meat World) to support these levels as a bonus chapter for the PC version.
So here are the basic facts:
-Users have the ability to create anything they have seen in game, minus bosses and warp zones.
-Users can then upload their levels to Super Meat World where they can be played and voted on by the community.
-Users can also take their uploaded levels and create full chapters with par times, custom titles and music.
-Users can choose from a full cast of 20 characters to play as in their levels and chapters, regardless of if they have unlocked them in the main game.
-Awesome chapters and levels will be hand picked by Team Meat and become featured as "recommended chapters".
-The level editor is FREE, a final gift from Team Meat to the fans who have supported us.The Level editor can be launched on Steam by going into Tools and selecting The SMB level editor (1mb download).
Super Meat World is unlocked by completing 2 full chapters or collecting 20 bandages in the main game and appears to the left of Ch1 on the overworld map.
We will be doing one more update to SMW next week adding a few missing features and fixing up a couple editor bugs. After that we will be closing the book on the PC version, porting SMB to Mac and swiftly moving on to game #2 (because we cant seem to stay happy without working on something constantly).
Its been surreal everyone! thanks for all of the solid support and love, its time to hand the reigns to the SMB community and retire.
If there's anything that Vayne teaches us it's that even if you're at home in the shadows, it never hurts to look good. And while we're on the subject of looking good, Riot Games artists Katie DeSousa and Wes Keil are here to bring you a warden of the night that's as fierce as the vile creatures she hunts, yet as captivating as the midnight moon. While the heels of steel and ruby red glasses might show off her elegant sense of style, don't let that fool you. Her crossbows still let you know she means business.Watch our artists shine a ray of light onto her darkened visage in this high speed rendering of Vayne, the Night Hunter.
PC Gamer also reveals that the development team is working to offer full AMD Eyefinity support for up to five displays. To sweeten lhe deal it'll even be possible to run 3D over just as many screens, even though the effect would probably be lost on the 1st and 5th panels.
Finally, the Deus Ex: Human Revolution game engine was supposedly built with multi-core CPUs in mind. Eidos representatives state that even a dual core setup and bring about increased frame rates, sometimes by as much as 70%. You can see an AMD based triple screen setup for yourself in the video below. As a sidenote I'd imagine NVIDIA users will be able to enjoy these setups as well, at least up to three screens.
According to those that have gotten a confirmation out of Rockstar on the matter the company has taken the annoyances of swapping into consideration, and have already structured the title so that it will not become obnoxious on the Xbox 360.
I personally don't care, it's still a 25-hour game if you were to skip side missions and rush all of the detective work, more if you actually try to check out everything. I'd like to imagine that there will only be two swap points through an entire playthrough.
What are your thoughts? Will this news have any impact on your platform of choice?
Upon uploading a Team Fortress 2 video to Youtube and earning 1,000 views players will gain access to a new in-game hat unlock (of course). Then after earning the "Star Of My Own Show" achievement new taunts will open up as well. We're not sure yet though if the Saxxy Awards are actually going to take place, or if there will be any rewards. It's a mystery!
Head on over to the Team Fortress Blog to get the whole scoop, then fire up Steam to get the update so you can continue playing dress-up with your FPS dollies.
So I'm laying back in the chair, and he decides to spring some new alternative to novocaine on me which was only approved for use in the US something like five years ago. He started with just half a tube of the stuff, and let me tell you after that I could have literally had my face replaced without batting an eye. I immediately went numb from my lips all the way up to my eyelids on the right side of my face. I could not feel anything really, blinking was the weirdest thing ever.
I spent a good five hours afterwards looking like I had a stroke, and even twelve hours in It's still wearing off which is a little weird / new. for me. It's good I couldn't feel anything, but that level of numbing might be a little extreme for minor dentistry. What's the weirdest experience you've ever had in the chair?
Since I've still got The Witcher 2 on the brain here's another very slightly NSFW video of the day which should help get your weekend off to a great start. Just makes you wonder though, how the heck did something like that come out of Michigan?
