The Farthest I've Traveled from Home

The Outback in Australia. We left San Francisco on a Friday midnight flight and landed in Sydney Sunday afternoon. Monday we were off to Alice Springs and off we went for a camping trip in the Outback. Absolutely phenomenal. Of course, we went traveling all over Australia, but I believe the Outback is the farthest we've been.

Valentine’s Day…not my cup of tea

I dislike Valentine’s Day. Always have. It’s a Hallmark holiday, not a real one. It’s a day that puts so much pressure on men and women alike.

It’s just nuts. Some men run around buying gifts that perhaps they’re not ready to buy (ie diamond rings), whilst some women run around wondering if her man bought her the gift he’s not ready to buy (the same diamond ring). I feel so bad for these people. Imagine the letdown when the gift isn’t what they were expecting. Seriously, this day brings on so much angst it’s incredible. Read more…

Brands Don’t Target Me…a rant

Brands don’t target me because I’m not their “demographic.”  I am not a “GenY’er”. I’m not an “under 30” person.  I’m an educated, professional business person over the age of 40 who as a woman has more buying power than the under 30’s regardless of their sex. I am a “baby boomer,” a member of the largest, most powerful demographic out there. Read more…
