Leaked: GameSpy Reveals Six of the 3DS' Most Exciting Upcoming Games

By Nathan Birch | Nintendo DS Humor | Mar 18, 2011 6:00 PM | Comment

With the 3DS nearly in gamers' sweaty, trembling hands, Nintendo has graciously revealed some of what we'll eventually see on the system. Zelda, Star Fox, Animal Crossing, and -- yes, shock of shocks, a new Mario platformer -- are on their way. But beyond those obvious titles, what other games can we expect? Well, we here at the GameSpy Humor Division have been working our (possibly imaginary) sources hard, and are ready to reveal, for the first time anywhere, six of the most exciting games in development for Nintendo's new handheld. Draw Master Chief, Win a Halo: Reach Legendary Edition and the Defiant Map Pack

By Will Tuttle | Xbox 360 News | Mar 18, 2011 5:30 PM | Comment

With this week's release of the Defiant Map Pack for Bungie's Halo: Reach, our choice for 2010's Shooter of the Year is back in our Xbox 360's drive and getting plenty of play. We realize, however, that not everyone had a chance to pick up Halo: Reach, so we've reached out to our friends at Microsoft to remedy that. We've got five Halo: Reach Legendary Editions to give away to our fine readers, as well as a Defiant Map Pack code to go along with each of them. So what's the catch? Read More »

Been Waiting for Footage of Crysis 2 on PC?

By Will Tuttle | PC News | Mar 18, 2011 12:30 PM | Comment

Crysis 2 finally hits stores next week, and while we've gotten quite a few looks at the Xbox 360 version of the game, Crytek hasn't made it a point to show off the PC version. This is surprising, given the franchise's PC exclusive history, but it's also not uncommon nowadays as developers create games for multiple platforms and (sadly) don't give the PC community much love. Apparently Crytek agrees that PC gamers deserve more, as they've released a new video that explicitly states that all footage was taken from the PC version of the game. Click through to take a gander for yourself. Read More »

Portal 2 Preview

By Nathan Meunier | PC Previews | Mar 17, 2011 4:30 PM | Comment

Valve never expected the original Portal to elicit such an enthusiastic and positive response from gamers. Originally released as a pack-in title with The Orange Box, this dark, twisted, and hilarious first-person puzzler quickly took on a life of its own, thanks to its innovative portal gun mechanics and the endearing-yet-megalomaniacal antics of GLaDOS, the game's disembodied, monotone antagonist. It's been a long wait for a proper sequel, but Portal 2 is finally completed, and set to rip out your funny bone and tickle your noggin later next month. While we've already checked out the game's co-op multiplayer component, we recently experienced the first never-before-seen six minutes of the solo campaign. Our guts still ache from laughing so hard. Read More »

Rift Review

By Jeremiah Leif Johnson | PC Reviews | Mar 16, 2011 5:00 PM | Comment

Sometime in-between closing my 30th rift and entering my seventh dungeon, I found myself wondering if I could live in the world of Telara. Not in the role-playing sense, of course -- but in the sense that I could dump precious months into this competent pretender to Blizzard's massively multiplayer online throne and walk away with no regrets. And for a while, I was a believer. Rift seduced me (and countless others) with the promise of a dynamic world, with protean class and talent systems. It flirted with breathtaking visuals and gameplay that drew from the best aspects of World of Warcraft, EverQuest, and Warhammer: Age of Reckoning. It felt refreshing and familiar all at the same time. Read More »
