Elemental: War of Magic's First Expansion Announced
- BERJAYA 0 Comments
Stardock has announced Fallen Enchantress, the first expansion for Elemental: War of Magic. New lore, creatures, locations, and a new tactical combat system will be among the features of Fallen Enchantress. The add-on will be free to everyone who purchased Elemental: War of Magic in 2010.

Elemental: War of Magic is a PC strategy game that puts the player in command of a kingdom in a shattered fantasy world. Players build cities, raise armies, research technologies, go on quests, recruit heroes, negotiate treaties, learn spells and more in this epic strategy game.

In Fallen Enchantress players will be able to explore the world of Elemental and discover a wide range of unique locations, including dangerous wild lands that can’t be settled until they are conquered. There are areas like the Bhinadmi Fissure, a massive chasm that spawns demons and earth elementals, until a player goes to the edge and challenges the elemental lord that dwells within.

These undiscovered lands contain new characters and creatures: from the tragic Butchermen who wander the lands around Red Springs trying to pass their curse off to another victim, to Morian the Ruin of Summer, who was once a powerful nature elemental who has been driven mad by the Cataclysm and the destruction of his forests.

Project Blackout Free-To-Play Shooter Launches
- BERJAYA 3 Comments
The newest free-to-play FPS on the block has launched. SG Interactive have announced that Project Blackout is ready to rock 'n roll. If you're interested in checking the game out you can sign up here. Personally I can't reach the site, but I quadruple checked the URL and it's correct.

Project Blackout gives players the opportunity to do some damage in the fight between paramilitary and militia forces in the bullet-riddled country of Korogese. Players can blast their way through a wide variety of maps and five unique gameplay modes, earning experience to gain Rank, completing Mission Cards and using those exp gains and in-game rewards to customize their gameplay through the Advanced Combat Training system. All of these options can be used to improve their own, personal play style and shooting skills.

Of course, there’s no use in jumping into a firefight without the right equipment, so players also need to pick their gear carefully if they want to survive. From assault rifles with laser sights, scopes and quick-change magazines, dual wielded SMGs to bulletproof helmets and flashbangs; it’s up to each user to decide whether they’d like to be a walking tank or a speedy sharpshooter. With the official Project Blackout launch, players who really want to gear up to the max can visit the in game Item Mall to snag these top-of-the-line items. Although, everyone would do well to keep the unofficial Korogesian motto in mind as they enter the fray: “When all else fails, let the bullet decide.”

League of Legends Gets New Map
- BERJAYA 5 Comments
Riot Games has announced the latest map to be added to their multiplayer strategy game, League of Legends. Called "Magma Chamber," the map will be optimized for 5 vs. 5 play, similar to the original Summoner’s Rift map. But unlike Summoner’s Rift, which focuses on larger team fights in the mid and late game, Magma Chamber emphasizes smaller, more tactical fights, map awareness and victory in specific lanes. Magma Chamber will also feature all new neutral minions that grant powerful buffs when defeated, new brush configurations and some other surprises that will help you traverse the rocky terrain.

The announcement says that the new map will be released globally in 2011 but no specific date was mentioned.

Kinect Will Hit PC When Time Is Right
- BERJAYA 28 Comments
Motion control is sneaking on to the PC little by little, and Microsoft doesn't plan to be left behind. MS CEO Steve Ballmer has promised that the company will support Kinect for PCs sometime in the future. Of course, some people are already using Kinect on the PC by utilizing hacks and what not.

"We're trying to move beyond gaming to include the world of socialization, movies, TV, music, and we're trying to make the whole experience accessible to everybody in the family not just the traditional gamer." When the BBC asked Ballmer "Will you plug-in the Kinect to the PC, will you go for that in the near future?" he replied with "We'll support that in a formal way in the right time and when we've got an announcement to make we'll make it."

What do you think, does the PC need motion control?

In Other News... Tron Legacy Was Pretty Damn Cool
- BERJAYA 14 Comments
So I finally got around to seeing Tron Legacy with some of the fam, and since my girlfriend and her Acura had a little run in with a curb during a recent snowstorm I managed to drag her with me as well. Overall I thought it was a really good flick, although I didn't have any super crazy expectations going into it. The 3D effects weren't all that overwhelming or gimmicky, they just helped differentiate the real world from the virtual world. I thought the story was really solid too, wish I could say more but I don't want to spoil it. I'm just hoping they go for a third. :)

It's nice to see the news pick up a little bit, and I'm thinking 2011 is going to be a pretty decent year for gaming. I'm guessing Dead Space 2 and The Witcher 2 are probably going to be my first "must plays" of the year, and they're really close to release now. I'm also starting to pay a little more attention to Red Orchestra 2, mainly thanks to PC Gamer's recent coverage. There's a little indie game called Monaco that they're freaking out about too, something about co-op 8-bit style stealth. So, what are you guys planning to pick up in early 2011?

For your daily entertainment, I found this little video on Youtube made by Remington (the shaver company). I'll leave my own preference to your imaginations!

Real Life Call of Duty Writer Wolfgang Hammersmith Revealed As Fraud?
- BERJAYA 12 Comments
Back in November we interviewed "Wolfgang Hammersmith", author of the book "Beyond The Call of Duty: Gunfight!". Hammersmith claimed to have spent 19 years in Black Ops combat, and to be one of the best in the world at small unit combat tactics, Special Ops, a Lt. Col., etc. etc. Wolfgang's book was listed as non-fiction. The folks at Professional Soldiers found Hammersmith's website, book and credentials to be quite laughable, so took it upon themselves to expose the writer as a fraud.

Since all of this started, Wolfgang Hammersmith has replaced his website (including the pages advertising his book) and replaced it with a letter. Although Hammersmith does not admit to being a fraud, he does say that he cannot produce military credentials and as a result is voluntarily removing his rank from the book, and is changing the genre from non-fiction to fiction. Hammersmith maintains that he is still trying to recover records of his military background and when he is able to provide proof of his background he will do so.

According to Professional Soldiers, Wolfgang Hammersmith has burned through a number of fake names, and has been scrutinized for dodgy dealings in the past.

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad Preview Up @ PCGamer
- BERJAYA 6 Comments
Good news everyone, the guys and gals at PC Gamer have officially made their magazine exclusive Red Orchestra 2 preview available at PCGamer.com.

In October 2010 PC Gamer Senior Editor Evan "Frodo" Lahti flew out to visit Tripwire Interactive's offices in Georgia, and later wrote up his impressions of multiplayer after an intense play session with the developers. Here's a little taste:

More subtly, I love the delay RO2 introduces between death notifications. It sounds absolutely simple: if you kill someone, a pop-up won’t appear until five or six seconds after they’ve expired. That gap in immediate feedback stirs drama—even when you’re sure you’ve tagged a German between the lungs, there’s a bit of breath-holding after every kill. You forget how much organic tension you’ve been missing out on when a bright “+10” isn’t stamped on the screen to pat you on the back every time you shoot someone.

That raw, scrappy-feeling gunplay strikes a compromise I’ve been waiting for for years: a nuanced multiplayer shooter that doesn’t place success at the top of its learning curve like an out-of-reach peanut butter jar. Every tint of realism feels purposefully ancillary—in the dozen-plus rounds I played, gunfights never hinged on how well I utilized cover—I could survive without it by crouching, leaning, crawling on my stomach or yelling at my squad leader to toss a smoke grenade to cover a flanking move.

Gray Matter Out in February 2011
- BERJAYA 2 Comments
Viva Media has announced that they are going to distribute Jane Jensen's much-awaited point-and-click adventure game Gray Matter in North America. The game, which has been in development since 2003, is finally being released to the English-speaking public in February 2011.

Gray Matter is the first adventure game by renowned author Jane Jensen since the release of Gabriel Knight 3: the story mixes eerie goings-on with supernatural events in best Jensen-style. Neurobiologist Dr. David Styles is one of the game's central characters: since losing his wife in a horrible accident some several years ago, he has become a recluse, seldom leaving Dread Hill House, his English country estate.

When student and part-time street performer Samantha Everett shows up at his doorstep, she unexpectedly becomes his assistant. Hailing from America, she has been traveling through most of Europe the last couple years. Her first task: finding six test subjects at Oxford University for one of Styles experiments. The experiment starts off innocently enough, but then inexplicable incidents start mounting.

Players control both Dr. David Styles and Samantha Everett in their bid to uncover the secrets and find out the truth. Gray Matter tackles questions concerning the nature of reality and the power of the human mind in constructing the world we take for granted.

Retail price is tagged at $29.99.

id Software Vet Graeme Devine Launches Clandestiny on Mac App Store
- BERJAYA 1 Comment
So, apparently Graeme Devine left Apple late last year and launched his own company called GRL Games. Clandestiny was originally released by Devine when he was at Trilobyte in 1996 as the company’s third title, following The 7th Guest and 11th Hour. The game has been rewritten from scratch for the Mac, with new tougher AI for the puzzles, new navigation and brighter environments. Devine is known for being the co-creator and programmer of The 7th Guest/11th Hour, and being the lead designer on id software’s Quake III and Microsoft’s Halo Wars.

He left his position at Apple to form a company dedicated to making the best game titles on the iOS and Mac desktop platforms. Clandestiny is available now at an introductory price of $9.99 through the new Mac App Store launched this month by Apple.

My mouse just died out on me, s'okay, I have another one within arm's reach (if I had to get up for it then I wouldn't be an Ark). I have two headsets beside me.
