Reba, Brad, Carrie + More Talk New Year's Resolutions and Hangover Cures

What are some of your favorite stars doing to welcome in the New Year? Many of them are working hard, helping fans celebrate. Several artists have taken the time off around the holidays and will hit it hard when they return to the road in mid-January. There are two things on everyone's mind as we approach January 1; resolutions and hangover cures for those who imbibe too much on New Year's Eve.

Reba McEntire has had a great 2010, beginning it with the No. 1 song, 'Consider Me Gone,' and ending it with another chart-topper, 'Turn on the Radio,' as well as a long-running tour with her pal George Strait. So, what's next? "What I look forward to in 2011 is getting to go out on tour again with George Strait and Lee Ann Womack, spending more time with my buddies out on vacation, my families. I am just really looking forward to the next year."

Brad Paisley recently released his first greatest hits collection, called 'Hits Alive,' and he thinks that now is a good time to reflect on the last decade of hits. "This is an album of 'this is what I've been up to for the last decade.' It feels good to actually do that at this point, and recap, and show both on a record what we've accomplished, and then live what we've accomplished, which is probably something I'm even more proud of."

The highlight of 2010 for Carrie Underwood was her summer wedding to husband Mike Fisher. As for any New Year's resolutions, she just wants to focus on becoming a better person in her relationships. "Fortunately there's nothing I need to quit," says Carrie, who headlines a show on New Year's Day at the Borgata Spa and Resort in Atlantic City, N.J.

Brett Eldredge Hopes Buddy Jay Cutler Takes Bears All the Way

    BERJAYAWarner Music Nashville

Brett Eldredge will kick off the New Year in a big way, singing the National Anthem at Lambeau Field for the Green Bay Packers game versus the Chicago Bears Sunday, January 2. A Bears fan since his childhood, the Paris, Ill. native is also excited about attending the game because it means he gets to cheer on his buddy, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, in person.

"We ran around with a similar crew in Nashville," Brett tells The Boot. "He's a fan of country music, and my buddy runs his diabetes foundation. We met and became friends, and he's a heck of a player and I'm rooting for him and how great of a season they're having right now. He's definitely my favorite player. I hope he takes us to the Super Bowl -- he's got the arm to do it, and I think our team has got the shot, so we'll be celebrating regardless and I'm happy for him."

Rooting for Jay isn't the only thing that Brett is looking forward to, though. "January 2 will be kind of a big deal to me because of my history with the game," Brett continues. "The Bears and the Packers are playing at Lambeau Field, and my dad is a huge Packers fan and I'm a Bears fan. I have a big respect for the rivalry, and I'm rooting for the Bears.

Lee Brice Has Plans for a 'Beautiful' New Year

    BERJAYAEvan Agostini, AP

Lee Brice is reaping the rewards of all of his successes in 2010, including his first Top 3 single, 'Love Like Crazy,' which topped Billboard's year-end Hot Country Songs chart as the most-heard country song of the year. The South Carolina native is also looking forward to building on those successes in the coming year.

Lee has a few things on tap, including a pair of tours, including one with his pal Jerrod Niemann, as well as some other cool writing projects. "As a songwriter, we've got a few things that will be coming out," Lee tells The Boot. "I wrote 'Beautiful Every Time' and we're really excited about that. And then I wrote a song that the Eli Young Band is putting out called 'Crazy Girl,' and we have a chance -- a good chance -- on possibly getting a Kenny Chesney single early in the year. It's a song on his new album called 'Seven Days.' So, we'll see about that. That's something you never count on until it happens."

Miranda Lambert Reveals Pre-Wedding Diet Details

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton have already made several decisions about their upcoming wedding, including serving deer meat at the reception and being serenaded by good friend Neal McCoy. But while anxious fans are still waiting to see what the bride's wedding gown will look like, chances are she will have to buy one in a smaller size!

"I don't know how much weight I've lost. I just know people tell me, 'You look great,'" she tells Us Weekly (quote via CMT.com). Admittedly down two dress sizes already, the soon-to-be bride says it all comes down to healthy choices. "Now instead of Cheetos, I choose almonds," she explains, adding that her diet consists mostly of oatmeal, vegetables and turkey. "No mayonnaise, no potatoes or bread ... really just vegetables and meat."

The three-time CMA Award winner even found time to add a grueling work-out routine to her schedule -- no small feat considering she spent most of the last few months on the road as the headlining act for CMT on Tour: Miranda Lambert -- Revolution 2010. But the platinum-selling singer may finally be making peace with living on the other side of the camera lens -- a situation she admits was a challenge in the past.

Zac Brown Band Ready for 'Monumental' New Year's Eve Show

    BERJAYAWireImage

The Zac Brown Band is going home to Georgia to celebrate New Year's Eve with a special show at the Philips Arena in Atlanta on December 31. Considering the year they've had, the group is pretty excited to be ringing in 2011 with a hometown crowd. While the band has never been shy about their love for Georgia, for at least one of them, the effects of the upcoming event didn't sink in until recently.

"I got to see Dave Matthews, we did some tours with him so he came into town and I got him to hook me up with some tickets and got to hang out with the guys," guitarist Coy Bowles tells Atlanta's Metromix. "I saw them about three weeks ago and I was standing out on the floor of Philips Arena, and I was just looking around, thinking, 'I can't believe we're about to play here.' Because we've played places that big before if not bigger, but there's this thing where it's like where we came from and where we're at now. It's a monumental show for us. Playing the Fox was a big deal for us, but Philips is kind of like the last stand in Atlanta."

The homecoming show will no doubt be full of surprises musically, since the band will be jamming with some longtime local friends. "I think we're going to try and pull out all the guns that we know in Atlanta," Coy explains. "That's kind of the word on the street now ... that we're going to try and get all the guys we know from Atlanta that we've been playing with, and do as much good music as we possibly can."

Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman Hoping for Second Child

    BERJAYARick Diamond, Getty Images

Superstar Keith Urban's wife, actress Nicole Kidman, confirms the couple has not ruled out having a second child together. "We're hoping for another one," the Oscar winning actress (and mother of two adopted children with ex-husband, Tom Cruise) tells Australia's Sydney Morning Herald.

The star of the new film, 'Rabbit Hole,' also says she and Keith don't like being separated from their two-year-old daughter, Sunday Rose, for very long. "Time is the most precious thing. I'm very particular about how I spend it. I'm more reluctant to leave my family."

The Aussie-born actress who is now a Nashville resident adds, "Keith and I are very tight and we're never separated. If we are, it's no more than three days."

Nicole says that Sunday is "a Tennessee girl" and has reached what she and Keith call "the 'raccoon' stage because she's into everything ... She's just really hard to wrangle at this stage."

Randy Houser 'Freaked Out' Over National Anthem

    BERJAYAMindy Small, FilmMagic.com

Randy Houser is a big man with a big voice, but there is one song that strikes fear in his heart every time he's asked to sing it. The song probably intimidates every artist in America, and being asked to sing it live can cause even the most secure vocalist to sweat a little. Randy admits that actually singing 'The Star-Spangled Banner' isn't the hard part: it's remembering the words that's a killer.

"There's such a delay from the time you sing it to the time you hear it on the speakers," Randy tells the Cincinnati Citybeat about his recent performance of the song at a Tennessee Titans game. "It is like a second. It kind of freaked me out. Singing it is the easiest part. Remembering the words to it is a completely different thing. It's just because you think about that one so hard whenever you go out there, you don't want to screw it up. It's not like you're on auto-pilot. You always think you're gonna mess up the words."

Randy has plenty of sympathy for artists who freeze up and go blank on the words to the national anthem, since he knows it could happen to anyone at any time and is an artist's worst fear. "There was a Kansas City Chiefs game [that] my buddy Mike Eli sang at with his band [Eli Young Band] and he forgot the words to the anthem. It was pretty bad. But they don't understand how nerve-wracking that one particular song is to sing because you don't want to screw it up so bad and that's why people do. They're thinking about it so hard. People who don't have to stand up and sing it in front of 90,000 people don't understand. You kind of freak out. That's what happens."
