Netroots Nation Report, Day 1
Friday, July 23, 2010 10:05:53 AM America/Santiago
Wheeoooo, kiddies, we had quite the time at the Netroots Nation event yesterday. It delights me to note that the people who have been stopping by our booth are like-minded progressive, intelligent, funny folks, even the kids. We're very much looking forward to what today brings us.

Netroots Nation Report, Day .5
Wednesday, July 21, 2010 12:14:56 PM America/Santiago
Our heads are still reeling at how relatively easy our prep time was for the Netroots Nation event, thank goodness for all my mad production skillz that had been lying dormant (but not atrophied).
But it continued, with an easy breezy drive to Vegas, even if we did miss the exit for Baker (Sarah thought it'd be 113 degrees when we hit Baker - I said 116, but the car defied us and told us it was 115). Either way, too dang hot for us.
We actually managed to make 1800 tiny soaps for all the Netroots Nation registration goody bags (in a week!!!), so attendees will all get a free taste of us, and dropping them off with the NN organizers yesterday was also easy. What gives?! We had a leisurely Chinese dinner way off the strip and then even went shopping for a couple of vintage frocks!
Considering the last event we did was spent fretting and tearing our hair out and rushing to Michael's at the last minute to try to make someone else's pass at our booth a little more, you know, Bubble Genius-y, this is a freaking cakewalk. And it's too late for the other shoe to drop, so we have to assume that there is no shoe.
We set up today starting at 2pm, the prospect of loading up the car at the height of the hot isn't thrilling us, but it does mean we get to have a relaxing morning by the pool and then do a run to Trader Joe's for some provisions for the house.
After we're done with setup, we're getting a massage, dangit, and then, if we're feeling energetic, might go see (no joke) Cheap Trick perform the Sgt Pepper album. Oh, Vegas. The mind boggles.
The secret's out...

It's a day full of YAYs!
YAY #1: our site has transferred hosts, it's been a smooth ride so far, I'm feeling optimistic. There are about two dozen new products, including our political voodoo dolls, and lots of gift packs and baskets!
YAY #2: we're totally on track for our Netroots Nation event next week in Vegas! Even with the late addition of eighteen hundred (yes really) soaps for their registration goody bags! We're halfway there, and should be set by Friday. That means we might actually have this weekend to relax!
YAY #3: one of our favorite podcasters (and political commentator and all around nice dude), Bob Cesca, is now on iTunes, with his bud Elvis Dingeldein! And we're over the moon* to be one of the first business to sponsor the podcast. The first iTunes airing is this Thursday. Listen up!
YAY #4: the soaps we custom made for the Mütter Museum in Philly are finally on sale! Anyone in the Philadelphia area should go to this museum, it is totally awesome, and believe me, the next time we go back east, we are taking in the sights at the Mütter.
See what I mean? Lots of YAYs! And there's more, but they're personal.
Come visit us next week in Vegas!

we love the Los Angeles Times...

...and they love us!
Our Spell it Out Valentine soaps were just featured in their blog a couple of days ago! Woohoo!
In other news, since the holidays have wound down and we're just about done vacationing (and sending out our own holiday gifts to our friends that we didn't have time to do last month), we hope we'll have more time to blog. That would be nice!
