More Than 25 Percent of Kids Regularly Take Prescription Drugs

Our happy hour fact to amaze your drinking buddies with.

BERJAYAMore than one of four American children and teenagers take a prescription drug on a regular basis.

This stat comes from Medco Health Solutions Inc., the nation's largest health-care benefits manager. Medco also found that nearly 7 percent of young people take at least two prescription drugs.

A separate analysis by the research firm IMS Health found that the most prevalent drug among those under 18 is asthma medication, followed by ADHD meds, antidepressants, antipsychotics and antihypertensives.

If this keeps up, old curmudgeons will soon be bragging about how they used to walk three miles to school in the snow and without any Adderall (or an inhaler).

Amazon Eve, World's Tallest Model, Wrestles Dudes for a Living

BERJAYADo not mess with Amazon Eve.

Eve (real name: Erika Ervin, apparently), is 6-foot-freaking-9-inches tall and can kick your ass. No, we don't mean she could probably kick your ass, we mean she definitely can. Although modeling is what the California native is known for, she makes a reported $400 to dispatch fawning fanboys in the wrestling ring.

According to the Telegraph, Eve is 31, a size-14 shoe and (arguably) the tallest model in the world. She says her height is "more popular in Asia and Europe, as in the U.S. it's kind of frowned upon. It's a bit of a stigma of shame for the men not to always be stronger, superior, taller than a woman." Damn straight, woman.

Recently, the model, who some typically-all-knowing YouTube commenters suspect is a secret transsexual, recently unleashed 81 inches of fury on the nerds of Texas. She stopped in at Hooters to wreck a few nitwits with her spin moves.

Keep reading for a video of this Amazonian powerhouse in action.

Turkish Man Forced to Out-Run Truck

BERJAYAA Turkish man was forced to try and out-run a truck after its driver sped out when a traffic light turned green without seeing the beleaguered pedestrian beneath his windscreen.

Bekir Ozcan, 53, was crossing at a junction in the eastern Turkish city of Adiyaman. He was too close to the front of the Total tanker and when the lights changed the driver couldn't see him.

Ozcan must have decided he didn't have enough time to leap out of the way because he tried to out-run the truck. Luckily for him, passing pedestrians quickly alerted the driver who slowed, allowing Ozcan enough time to dive out of the way.

Ozcan was taken to hospital where he was treated for only minor injuries.

Workout Fail Videos -- How NOT to Exercise Away That Festive Fat

BERJAYAToday is most people's first day back at work after the Christmas break, and if you're anything like us, you'll be sporting a bit of festive pudge.

That honed physique we spent so much of the year working on at the gym has been reduced to a bloated, wheezing ball of cholesterol and clogged arteries. Was it worth it? Well, yes, of course it was. But, now many of us are thinking about getting back into shape.

Before you even think of hopping onto an exercise ball we felt we needed to bring you this video warning -- a collection of exercise and workout fails you might want to avoid.

Guy on YouTube Explains Women in Instructional Video

BERJAYAFinally guys, someone has come along to explain everything we don't know about women.

Unfortunately, that someone is a questionable "expert" at best. His name is apparently Jay Herrod and his only qualifications appear to be that he has been burned way too many times and has sort of learned how to operate a video camera.

Thus, Herrod posted some thoughts on the YouTube thing and solved all of our relationship problems in a few easy steps. (No. 1: "Women forgive, but they never forget." Wow, thanks. We've never heard that colloquialism before.)

And while he's right that a man can only win an argument with a woman if she lets him, he also isn't exactly telling us anything we don't already know. Or fear.

Keep reading for Herrod's ridiculous two-minute "instructional video".

Which of the Fantastic Four Will Die? Pro Gamblers Place Bets

BERJAYAOur friends at ComicsAlliance have known for a while that "Fantastic Four" writer Jonathan Hickman plans to execute one of Marvel's First Family in January. The writer and his editor, however, have been understandably cagey about revealing too much. But with only four characters to choose from, those whose business it is to make wagers on this sort of thing have made their findings known. Head to ComicsAlliance to see who the oddsmakers are marking for death. (via ComicsAlliance)

'Empire Strikes Back' to Be Preserved in Library of Congress

BERJAYA"The Empire Strikes Back" was selected by the United States Film Preservation Board to be enshrined in the National Film Registry, which is part of the U.S. Library of Congress.

The "Star Wars" sequel joined another George Lucas movie, his film school project "Electronic Labyrinth: THX 1138 4EB," on the list the 25 films which were bestowed this honor for 2010.

This makes four films by Lucas in the registry -- "Star Wars" and "American Graffiti" had made the cut in previous years.

Looking at the list of the 575 films currently in the registry, it would appear that a fifth Lucas film, "The Return of the Jedi," is strong candidate for eventual enshrinement.

However, as much as we love "Star Wars," we are not quite sure how we feel about Ewoks in the hallowed halls of the Library of Congress. (Well, as long as they keep Jar Jar out.)

Delaying Sex Improves Long-Term Relationships

Our happy hour fact to amaze your drinking buddies with.

BERJAYANot having sex for at least the first month of a relationship seems to make it stronger in the long run.

Researchers from Brigham Young University's School of Family Life interviewed 2,035 men and women who were an average age of 36 and in their first marriage. The researchers established the point when the men and women first had sex with their current partner, and then asked them questions about the strength of their relationship.

The longer a person held off on having sex before marriage, the more satisfying they reported their relationship to be. Those who waited to have sex until after marriage also reported higher levels of marital satisfaction and stability relative to those who had had sex within the first month of dating.

File this under studies one should not discuss during a first date.
