Snowpocalypse 2: The Pictures
So as you may have heard, we in the DC Metro area just had another major snowstorm, and as I write this post it’s still snowing pretty heavily. Here are some pictures:

The street formerly known as Flower Ave.

“Bumps Ahead” does not do justice to the road condition here
Social Networking
In case you didn’t know, I’m on Twitter at twitter.com/owillis and Facebook at facebook.com/oliverwillis. Follow me, lemmings.
Send Links
As you may have noticed I’m sort of experimenting with a new more newsier newspaper/reporting/something vibe here and of course I can’t read everything all the time, so I urge you to email or send me a link via twitter to things you might find interesting or newsy things I may have missed so that I can highlight them. Or if you know of a good take/news story/blog/resource related to something I write I about, stick it in the comments and I’ll update the story.
32?
32 years ago today I emerged from my Kryptonian birthing matrix (aka my mom).
I shall attempt to fly again.
*THUD*
Damn it, still no superpowers.
Speaking Of My First European Trip
My uncle, who lives in France, sent me these pictures of my trip to London when I was abut 3 yrs old (1981). Pictured are my uncle, paternal grandmother, my mom, my aunt, and my cousin. It will be very difficult for you to guess which one is me.
Also, it is totally out of character for me to be wearing a shirt with a Spider-Man logo on it. Riiight.
Europe Bound
At the end of this month I’m going to Europe. It’s basically the first time I’ve been, though I went to England to visit my grandmother when I was like 2. I’ll be going to (tentatively):
Rome, Italy
Venice, Italy
Prague, Czech Republic
Nuremberg, Frankfurt – Germany
London, UK
Dublin, Ireland
Paris, France
Any tips, notes, etc. you have to share would be appreciated. Also, contact info for European supermodels.
Victory Is Ours
So, everything went well with CK’s little procedure. He had been throwing up and was backed up, turned out to be a big time episode of constipation, but at his age (almost 10) he had to go through anesthesia to have it taken care of. Plus I am a big baby when it comes to him. But he’s okay, just a bandage for where they had to put the drugs into him. He is Champion.
I just have to take the rest of the day to pamper him. More than usual, that is.
Thanks for the well wishing and good comments everyone, it meant a lot to me.
Yes, that IS a Washington Redskins dog tag.
Please Help Me Think Good Thoughts Today
CK, the weiner dog of infinite justice, is not feeling well and has an emergency medical procedure scheduled in the next couple hours. It isn’t anything life threatening but I’m of course not in a good state of mind on it, he’s never been really ill in any way before. Anyways, good puppy thoughts or prayers please, thanks.
Moms Rock
Remember, if you do anything today, remember to tell your mom Happy Mother’s Day. Here’s my mom:
ALSO
Congrats to my best friend Mark and his wife Vivien who became a mommy again yesterday with the birth of baby Luca.

Mark and I have secret plans to make him an NFL player, somehow.
Who Is Awesome? I Am Awesome.
The year is 1981. I went to a foreign country for the first time, a little place called England you may have heard of. My grandmother on my father’s side lived there, and my mom and I went for a little visit. Flash forward to today and my uncle just happened to have a few pictures from that trip and emailed them to me.
Behold Oliver, 3 years old in 1981. Oh yes…
