Waterfront Brooklyn Wedding
A unique color palette, a beautiful New York skyline and photography team Oh! Darling Photography all together in one place? It’s the perfect combination for a beautiful indie wedding! Married in Dumbo, Brooklyn, Jen and Alex made their big day pretty, personal and totally their style.

From the bride. We were looking at a space in Dumbo to hold the reception and ceremony and the person showing us around said that a lot of couples had chosen to get married in the park next door. It was dark out when we went to look at the space; it was right on the water’s edge with stone amphitheater seating built into the hill. I started jumping up and down and told Alex that we had found the place we were going to get married.

We imagined our wedding would be vintage and rustic and as the day got closer we made it simpler and simpler. The color scheme we chose was red and turquoise. We wanted the day to be on the casual side. And we wanted it to reflect our love of books.

We hired our florist to do the bouquets and boutonnieres two weeks before the wedding with the idea that the bridesmaids and my aunt and I would do all of the other flowers. About a week before I started thinking that sounded a little crazy, so I called Kim, told her the budget I had set for the flowers and asked if she would do those as well. I am beyond thankful that she agreed to do them.

Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? Delegate. The friends and family who are offering to help really do want to help. I know that neither Alex nor I could have finished everything we had to do without the generosity of our friends and family. Be sure to do what you want to do, even if other people tell you it’s silly. If it’s how you imagine your wedding, then that’s all the justification you need. And if you are a shy bride (as I was) don’t lose too much sleep about being the center of attention. I worried incessantly about it, and on the day of, I could not believe how much it did not matter – all I could see was Alex.

Cheery Portland Wedding
This cheery Portland wedding has sunshine in all the right places: in the sky, on their faces and in their happy yellow decor! The bride and groom pulled their wedding together based around the color yellow and they used it to unite their sweet outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. Check out the gallery for all the adorable images, especially the portraits of the couple!

The bridesmaids wore their own yellow shoes and carried stunning sunflower-based bouquets that the bride, her mom and best friend put together the day before the wedding. So cute!

The bride and groom portraits taken around Portland are so fresh and sweet and I love that they traveled via adorable pedi-cabs all day. They make for great photos!

While the ceremony and reception flowers were put together by friends and family, the bride carried around a bouquet made of colorful vintage brooches. What a perfect wedding keepsake!

Sweetly Intimate Mountain Wedding
Michelle and Doug’s Oregon wedding was all about declaring their love in front of family and friends… and then making sure those family and friends had a great time! Set in the scenic Pacific Northwest mountains, the couple added endless homemade details made possible by loving family and talented friends. Thanks Mary and Joel of Blue Window Creative for sharing!

When Doug and I were planning our wedding we kept thinking “upscale barbeque.” The most important thing to us was that our family and friends would have fun, so we decided to have various activities available. The property of the Mount Hood Bed & Breakfast is spacious and spectacularly beautiful. It was so fun to watch people playing horseshoes, bean bag toss, and doing 3-legged sack races right up until dusk.

We used Mason jars instead of beer and wine glasses – each guest wrote their name on their jar and kept it with them all night. Seating assignments were done with simple gift tags and stamped numbers…Table numbers were simply tied to the flower centerpieces.

Instead of a guest book we had guests write a wish for us on “wish flags” that hung on a line with clothespins; our own Mt. Hood version of the Himalayan Prayer Flag. We liked the idea that the mountain winds would carry the wishes of our loved ones to us.

We didn’t have a formal wedding party. Instead, one of our favorite touches of the wedding was when my two nieces (age 13 and 4) pulled our 10-month old daughter down the aisle in a Radio Flyer wagon!

Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? Borrow lots of ideas from wedding blogs! Don’t worry about anything on the day of the wedding, like weather or last minute details. At that point it’s out of your hands and all you can do is sit back and enjoy your day. It’s really true what people say – it goes by in the blink of an eye, so really savor every beautiful moment.

Luna Bazaar
Luna Bazaar is stocked with all those “extra” elements that make your wedding or event one your guests will continue to talk about after the day concludes. Their pieces are curated into a worldly mix of shapes, styles and designs but each one would fit perfectly into a vintage-themed wedding.

One of the hardest parts of pulling together a cohesive wedding is finding enough of a single decor element to carry over throughout the whole day. At Luna Bazaar, they’re always well-stocked so you don’t need to search high and low for those perfect pieces and they’re so affordable, you can afford to stylize your whole day!

I’m personally drawn to all things mercury glass- just a few pieces make the night sparkle! On dinner tables, at the dessert bar, speckled into seating nooks and crannies… they look good everywhere! Luna Bazaar has mercury glass in every possible form, from candlesticks to garland.

Aren’t these paper lantern shapes shown below fun? I see a bunch hanging above a bridal shower dessert table or framing an altar during the ceremony. They’re the perfect final touch for your winter wedding. You can find more of their ecclectic lantern selection here!
If you’re looking to add color to your reception, you can search by color for everything in the Luna Bazaar shop. Talk about one-click shopping! Tie together all of your elements with a cohesive color scheme. Check out Luna Bazaar for a huge (and I mean HUGE) selection of everything ranging from hand fans and colorful parasols to candleholders and favor bags. Whether you’re planning a wedding, a bridal shower, a cocktail hour or anything in between, it’s so fun to get lost in their world of pretty things!
