Do any of you remember this portrait session?

or this super sweet wedding?

Well look what we just found:

We don’t usually feature family sessions but we just couldn’t help ourselves today! When we saw these seriously beautiful and sweet images by Ben Christensen we immediately recognized Stacie and Geoffrey–a couple who have already been featured twice on Once Wed. Stacie and Geoffrey (who are photographers themselves) have started a family! And after roaming around on their blog a bit, I’m convinced they may be one of the cutest families on the planet. Seriously. See Exhibit A. Really…go see it!

Yay! I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally announce Joy Thigpen as the new creative director of Once Wed. Joy has been a close ally of Once Wed for a while now, but after a couple of years of dreaming and planning I’m so pumped to finally make it official. So much of the beauty you see here week after week is because of Joy and I can’t imagine curating Once Wed without her. Joy’s been keeping busy shooting new content since August, so stay tuned as we begin to unveil the new Once Wed bit by bit.

Emma and Simon live in Switzerland and were married in Emma’s hometown: Austin’s historic Hyde Park. And as photographer Ashley Garmon shares, the ceremony took place in the backyard with a well-loved garden as their only backdrop. After the ceremony, they walked down to the end of the block where the reception was held. The reception was a street party with dancing and cocktails in the middle of the street and a gorgeous tent in an empty lot at the end of the block which the guest enjoyed a three course meal.
Emma’s mother planted sweet peas along upon hearing of Emma and Simon’s plans to have the wedding reception on the corner lot. By the time the wedding day arrived, they provided a lovely natural barrier. They were also used in the arrangements on the table as well as Emma’s bouquet. The only other flowers were ranunculous from a local farm.
And that dreamy dress: understated, elegant…clever, even. Much like Emma herself. I have never seen such a calm bride on her wedding day.
