It’s the Phillip Treacy hat that garnered a lot of attention when Princess Beatrice wore it to the royal wedding last month; so much so that the Princess is auctioning it off on eBay to raise money for Unicef and Children in Crisis.

Dragon’s Den star Duncan Bannatyne opened up the bidding at £5,000 within minutes of the hat going on sale.

He said of his bid, “I’d encourage everyone to get bidding to raise as much money as possible – for once I don’t mind if I don’t walk away with the deal.”

Princess Beatrice said of her headgear that received a mountain of criticism and mockery, “I hope whoever wins the auction has as much fun with the hat as I did.”

She added, “I am an Ambassador for Children in Crisis and have learnt a huge amount about their work for children.  When my hat started getting so much publicity I really wanted to put it to the best possible use and try and raise some money for the children they help.  Children in Crisis and UNICEF are both doing amazing work for the most vulnerable children in the world so they were the natural choice for me, I really hope this idea can raise lots of money to give children a better future.”

Meet Bodhi, askateboarding dog whose owner has been fined £80 and faces legal action for not keeping his pet on a lead.

Jonathan Fell, 51, owner to Lakeland terrier and skateboard extraordinaire has also been threatened with an ASBO by council officials in Brighton.

Bodhi on his skateboard is a familiar sight in their hometown and is a YouTube sensation however, after two women complained that they tripped over his skateboard, Mr Fell found himself in trouble for not keeping his pooch on a lead.

He said of his dog, “Bodhi is always under control. He loves skateboarding and is not a criminal.  It’s something that makes people laugh. I never trained him to skateboard, it’s just what he loves to do.”

A council spokesman said, “Mr Fell has 14 days to pay up, otherwise he will be forced to appear before magistrates and could face a £1,000 fine. We know Bodhi’s antics are an amusing sight and the dog and spectators appear to enjoy it. But when people start getting hurt and we receive complaints we have a legal duty to act. Bodhi remains free to skate in local parks – but not in dog-free areas.”

Lord Sugar made his first fire of the series last night as wannabe businessman Edward Hunter was dismissed after the first task in The Apprentice.

Hunter, an Accountant, led the boys in their first task but lost to the girls leaving one of them to be sent home.  Unfortunately for him, as Project manager and after making lots of mistakes, it was he who was dealt the final blow from Lord Sugar.

The boys called themselves team Logic while the girls went for team Venture.  The first task involved Lord Sugar giving both teams £250 to invest in fresh fruit and vegetables and then turn them into saleable products.  The boys made orange juice and tomato soup while the girls made a fruit salad and vegetable pasta.

The show continues tonight with the teams having to develop a mobile phone app.

Kelly Brook is “devastated” after suffering a tragic miscarriage at 5 months.

The presenter/model was expecting a baby girl with boyfriend Thom Evans and was rushed to hospital at the end of last week, but tragically suffered a miscarriage.

Miss Brook had only recently announced her pregnancy after 3 months of dating former rugby union international Evans.

Her spokesman said, “I can confirm that Kelly and Thom have very sadly lost their baby.  They request that everyone please respects their privacy at this very painful time.  There will be no further comment.”

A friend added, “Kelly is understandably devastated, she’s at home and she’s being looked after by Thom and her mum Sandra.  There’s nothing you can say to anyone at a time like this – she just needs to be allowed some time alone to grieve.”

Celebrities were quick to take to Twitter to send their best wishes with Denise van Outen, a mother of one, saying, “OMG.. That’s awful news. I’m so sad for them x.”  Dannii Minogue, another recent mother added, “Sending big love to Kelly Brook and Thomas Evans,” while Michelle Heaton added, “Just awful news about Kelly brook.. It’s happening far too frequently these days, I can’t even imagine the hurt.”

Rachel Stevens was seen taking her baby daughter to the celeb spot that is Primrose Hill in bang on trend bright red jeans.

Taking cue from other fashionistas who have been donning the brights, she has been making the most of her jeans by wearing them twice in a week!

Stevens was accompanied by her husband to the park yesterday afternoon where they joined the crowds of Londoners and tourists taking advantage of the warm Sunday afternoon at the famous spot.  The spot is a favourite of celebs such as Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale while Katie Waissel tweeted that she was there recently and 90210 actress Jessica Lowndes was spotted there with her rumoured boyfriend, SoccerAM’s Matt Rushden.

Other celebs who love the bright jeans are Cheryl Cole, Sarah Jessica Parker and Khloe Kardashian while trousers of every colour have popped up in high street stores after the success of the celeb cult brand, J Brand’s £205 Colour Pop jean, was seen on every celebrity left right and centre.

Just 7 weeks after giving birth, Abbey Clancy had her first official night out as a new mum, and she looked amazing.  Wearing a short, backless halterneck dress, it was a daring dress for any woman let alone one whose just given birth.

Abbey gave birth to daughter, Sophia Ruby, her first child with Spurs’ Peter Crouch on March 14.

She attended the red carpet relaunch of men’s magazine Esquire at London’s Sketch last night with other guests including Lily Allen, Jaime Winstone and 90210 actress Jessica Lowndes.

Clancy was reported to have lost the baby weight with the ‘rice crispie’ diet, eating only the Kelloggs cereal to get back into shape.

If you were one of those people who cheered when Lauren Goodger pushed her fiance Mark Wright into the pool at the end of The Only Way is Essex last night, look away now, as the pair put paid to the rumours that they had split by arriving at the wrap party hand in hand.

Lauren, 24, opted for a short red dress with cut out panelling; a feature a lot of the TOWIE girls decided to embrace.  They’re not shy after all, so we wouldn’t expect them to cover up.

Lauren’s love rival Lucy Mecklenburgh – who dated Mark in the first series of the show – chose a bright blue maxi dress with cut out side panels while other TOWIE stars went for short, flesh baring combos as well.

One cast member who didn’t though was Lydia Bright.  Lydia was seen breaking James ‘Arg’ Argent’s heart last night as she took another man to the pool party however she arrived at the party with him in a long sleeved maxi dress with a split.

TOWIE won’t be on our screens for four months now but with Made in Chelsea coming to E4 soon and Geordie Shore coming to MTV, it doesn’t look like we’ll be waiting long for something to fill the void.

Meet the latest 16 candidates competiting to win the chance to run a business for Lord Alan Sugar.

They include a trained actress who loves soaps, an online takeaway boss who nearly died aged 12 and a woman who claims she bought her first house at the age of 12.

Lord Sugar said to the hopefuls, “I’m going to inject £250,000 worth of cash and value into a business, your business, and you’re going to run it. And I say you’re going to run it because don’t expect me to be doing all the work because I’m not looking for a “sleeping” partner.  I’m not Saint Alan, the patron saint of bloody losers… You can look at it as a bit of an uncivil partnership, so to speak. I want you to treat this first task as if it’s your own business. Here’s something to note, this is an investment, and I want some return on my money.”

This year’s series starts onTuesday May 10th and once again Lord Sugar will be joined by Nick Hewer and last year’s new face Karen Brady.  Hewer and Brady will once again help Lord Sugar whittle the 16 hopefuls down to one final winner.  Watch out for tasks which include designing a mobile phone application, creating a new pet food and launching a magazine.

The Apprentice starts next Tuesday 10th May at 9pm on BBC One and will be followed by You’re Fired! on BBC2 at 10pm hosted by Dara O’Briain.

Since winning The X Factor, Matt Cardle has experienced a new level of dating women.  And that’s the media glare that comes with it.

Cardle has been dating dancer girlfriend Sarah Robinson since December but rarely have they been photographed together.

But on sunday night they couple let their guard down and they were photograph leaving Shoreditch house headed for home.

Wearing his trademark cap, khaki jacket and another of his favourites, a checked shirt, which he teamed with jeans, Cardle and Robinson didn’t look best pleased that they had been snapped together.  Many male singers have found that their girlfriends become the target of young teenage girls to berate and what with social media making it easier for them to do so, many of them take to Twitter to hurl abuse at them.
