Steve Carell may be leaving The Office at the end of this season, but he is staying at NBC - behind the scenes at least. Deadline reports that Carell has sold a new half-hour comedy project to the network, based on his own experiences working as a mail carrier.
Tentatively titled The Post-Graduate Project, Deadline says the comedy is described as, "a sweet and nostalgic take on the period of Carell's early life as a U.S. Post Office mail carrier and centers on a small-town post office frequented by a quirky but tight-knit group of local twentysomethings."
Carell will write the pilot for The Post-Graduate Project, and executive produce with Thom Hinkle (The Daily Show).
