Mike Butcher is Editor of TechCrunch Europe, part of the TechCrunch network of websites acquired by AOL in September 2010. TechCrunch Europe was awarded best “Web 2.0 and business blog” in the UK by the readers of Computer Weekly magazine. In October 2009 Mike was named one of the Top 50 most influential Britons in technology by The Daily Telegraph. Mike is a regular commentator on the technology business, appearing on BBC News, Sky News, Channel 4 and Bloomberg. His personal blog is mbites, while he Twitters as @mikebutcher.
Mike is also co-founder, of TechHub, a project to bring European technology entrepreneurs and investors together in a club environment, in London initially. He is also the founder and on the steering committee of Coadec, the Coalition for a Digital Economy, which works to support legislation and other government policies that foster a lasting, sustainable and innovative digital economy for Britain. In September 2010, Mike was named to the Mayor of London’s new Digital Advisory Board.
