Bobby Jindal Mocks Obama’s Security Strategy as a “Treatise on Social Justice” (Video)

Posted by Jim Hoft on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, 12:16 PM

Jindal Nails It–
Popular Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal called Barack Obama’s approach to fighting terrorists as a “treatise to social justice.”
Barack Obama is the most radical far left president in American history.

Jason Mattera interviewed Governor Jindal at Human Events:

Jindal blasted Obama’s far left nuttiness during the interview:

“We’ve been lucky with…the Time Square bomb, the underwear bomber. Being lucky is not a strategy. The reality is we’ve been playing defense instead of playing offense…”

“Why in the world do we have TSA examiners who are groping 6-year-old children flying home to see grandma for the holidays? Why in the world are we acting like we don’t have intelligence assets and common sense? Not using our intelligence and not using our common sense, that’s called dumb. This is a dumb strategy that we’re pursuing.”

US Senate Votes to Giving Sweeping Powers to FDA

Posted by Jim Hoft on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, 12:05 PM

The US Senate today voted to give sweeping new regulatory powers to the Food and Drug Administration. Not a single democrat voted against the bill. The legislation was supported by President Obama which tells you something.
The New York Times reported:

The Senate on Tuesday passed a sweeping overhaul of the nation’s food-safety system, after recalls of tainted eggs, peanut butter and spinach that sickened thousands and led major food makers to join consumer advocates in demanding stronger government oversight.

The legislation, which passed by a vote of 73 to 25, would greatly strengthen the Food and Drug Administration, an agency that in recent decades focused more on policing medical products than ensuring the safety of foods. The bill is intended to get the government to crack down on unsafe foods before they harm people rather than after outbreaks occur.

Despite unusual bipartisan support on Capitol Hill and a strong push from the Obama administration, the bill could still die because there might not be enough time for the usual haggling between the Senate and House of Representatives, which passed its own version last year. Top House Democrats said that they would consider simply passing the Senate version to speed approval.

Both versions of the bill would grant the F.D.A. new powers to recall tainted foods, increase inspections, demand accountability from food companies and oversee farming. But neither version would consolidate overlapping functions at the Department of Agriculture and nearly a dozen other federal agencies that oversee various aspects of food safety, making coordination among the agencies a continuing challenge.

While food-safety advocates and many industry groups preferred the House version because it includes more money for inspections and fewer exceptions from the rules it sets out, most said the Senate bill was far better than nothing.

“This is an historic moment,” said Erik Olson, deputy director of the Pew Health Group, an advocacy group. “For the first time in over 70 years, the Senate has approved an overhaul of F.D.A.’s food safety law that will help ensure that the food we put on our kitchen tables will be safer.”

Senate Rejects Earmark Ban… 8 Republicans Defect

Posted by Jim Hoft on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, 11:56 AM

The senate rejected a ban on earmarks today. 8 Republicans joined democrats in rejecting the ban.
The eight Republicans in opposition were:

Robert Bennett of Utah
Thad Cochran of Mississippi
Susan Collins of Maine
James Inhofe of Oklahoma
Richard Lugar of Indiana
Lisa Murkowski of Alaska
Richard Shelby of Alabama
George Voinovich of Ohio

The Politico reported:

Thirty-nine senators voted Tuesday in support of a three-year moratorium on appropriations earmarks, the strongest showing ever by opponents of the current process and a potential game changer in the year-end budget debate.

Seven Democrats backed the proposal, and the party leadership will have to decide now whether to strip out or weaken draft language in an omnibus spending bill that currently sets aside billions for home-state projects.

The massive bill already represents a serious bipartisan effort to reach a compromise by cutting up to $26 billion from President Barack Obama’s 2011 budget. And with nearly 40 senators supporting the moratorium, the Appropriations Committee leadership faces the threat of endless delays if some accommodation is not reached.

That’s Weird… Wikileaks Suffers DDOS Attack; Inaccessible in US

Posted by Jim Hoft on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, 11:48 AM

That’s weird. Don’t tell us that the Obama Administration actually took action against this historic loss of sensitive information.

Wikileaks came under a DDOS attack this morning. They were forced to switch over to a different server.
CBS New York reported:

The WikiLeaks website said it came under a forceful Internet-based attack on Tuesday morning, making some of the content, including the controversial “Cablegate” documents, inaccessible for hours to users in the U.S. and Europe.

The site appears to have responded by switching its main hosting base from Sweden to the U.S., making it available again.

On Tuesday, traffic to the site went to Amazon.com Inc.’s server-for-rent service, based in the U.S.

The site, which distributed a trove of U.S. diplomatic documents on Sunday, said in a Twitter message on Tuesday morning that it was under a “distributed denial of service attack,” a method commonly used by hackers to slow down or bring down sites. WikiLeaks didn’t identify the attackers.

“We are currently under a DDOS attack,” according to one tweet early Tuesday. Shortly after 9 a.m., another tweet was sent, saying, “DDOS attack now exceeding 10 Gigabits a second.”

The site, which is devoted to releasing anonymously submitted documents, also came under attack Sunday, but Tuesday’s attack appeared to be more powerful.

Calls to Amazon.com were not immediately returned. Bahnhof, the Swedish Internet company that has been WikiLeaks’ main host, had no immediate comment on Tuesday.

Woah! Leftist Website Calls for Hillary’s “Scalp” After Wikileaks’ Revelations

Posted by Jim Hoft on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, 6:07 AM

Pakistani-Saudi relations were not the only casualty from the Wikileaks release this week. The far left Obama Administration is getting pummeled by the disclosures. And, democratic darling Hillary Clinton is taking a huge hit.
BERJAYA

Not only is Hillary being accused of acting like a communist, there are already calls for her resignation.
Jack Shafer at the leftwing Slate website is calling for her “scalp.”

A U.S. diplomat must possess patience, poise, and tact. He must also be attentive to cultural differences, a good observer, and proficient in several languages. When called upon, he must use his skills as a negotiator in the national interest. And, as the latest dump of WikiLeaks tells us, if the dip works for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, he must also be prepared to spy on his fellow diplomats.

…what makes Clinton’s sleuthing unique is the paper trail that documents her spying-on-their-diplomats-with-our-diplomat orders, a paper trail that is now being splashed around the world on the Web and printed in top newspapers. No matter what sort of noises Clinton makes about how the disclosures are “an attack on America” and “the international community,” as she did today, she’s become the issue. She’ll never be an effective negotiator with diplomats who refuse to forgive her exuberances, and even foreign diplomats who do forgive her will still regard her as the symbol of an overreaching United States. Diplomacy is about face, and the only way for other nations to save face will be to give them Clinton’s scalp.

How embarrassing are the WikiLeaks leaks? A secret cable from April 2009 that went out under Clinton’s name instructed State Department officials to collect the “biometric data,” including “fingerprints, facial images, DNA, and iris scans,” of African leaders. Another secret cable directed American diplomats posted around the world, including the United Nations, to obtain passwords, personal encryption keys, credit card numbers, frequent flyer account numbers, and other data connected to diplomats. As the Guardian puts it, the cables “reveal how the US uses its embassies as part of a global espionage network.”

On the other hand, conservatives, George Bush and Israel have not been touched by the disclusures this week.
Is this really what the far left intended?

Leftist Hero Assange to Leak Internal Bank Documents Next Year

Posted by Jim Hoft on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, 5:52 AM

Your right to know…
Wikileaks founder and leftist hero Julian Assange told Forbes Magazine that his organization will release internal bank documents early next year.
Reuters reported:

The founder of whistle-blower website WikiLeaks plans to release tens of thousands of internal documents from a major U.S. bank early next year, Forbes Magazine reported on Monday.

Julian Assange declined in an interview with Forbes to identify the bank, but he said that he expected that the disclosures, which follow his group’s release of U.S. military and diplomatic documents, would lead to investigations.

“We have one related to a bank coming up, that’s a megaleak. It’s not as big a scale as the Iraq material, but it’s either tens or hundreds of thousands of documents depending on how you define it,” Assange said in the interview posted on the Forbes website.

He declined to identify the bank, describing it only as a major U.S. bank that is still in existence.

Pentagon Study: Gays Can Serve With No Harm… (Except the Occasional Rogue Gay Soldier Who Leaks 250,000 Documents to Wikileaks)

Posted by Jim Hoft on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, 5:43 AM

Note: This post neither endorses nor opposes gays serving in the US military. It is intended to offer you more information on the topic because once again the corrupt media has decided to campaign for and not report on the subject.

Shocker-
Once again a timely report was released today just as Congress is scheduled to debate the topic today in Congressional hearings. The state run media wants you to know that gays can serve in the military openly without hurting the military’s ability to fight.
The AP reported:

The Pentagon study that argues that gay troops could serve openly without hurting the military’s ability to fight is expected to re-ignite debate this month on Capitol Hill over repealing the 17-year-old “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.

Officials familiar with the 10-month study’s results have said a clear majority of respondents don’t care if gays serve openly, with 70 percent predicting that lifting the ban would have positive, mixed or no results. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because the findings hadn’t been released.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen, who have both said they support repealing the law, were scheduled to discuss the findings with Congress Tuesday morning and with reporters Tuesday afternoon.

Republicans, led by Sen. John McCain of Arizona, have mostly opposed repealing the law because they say efforts to do so are politically driven and dangerous at a time of two wars.

Of course, what the corrupt media will not tell you is that occasionally a rogue gay soldier may wig out and leak over 250,000 documents to Wikileaks after a relationship falls apart. The media does not believe that this is something you should know. The information does not help them with their cause. Granted, straight soldiers could do this too- They just haven’t yet.

Obama’s Proposed Energy Tax Changes Could Cost US Another 150,000 Jobs

Posted by Jim Hoft on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, 5:18 AM

It’s evident by now that the community organizer in chief knows little about free market economics or job creation.
Here’s further proof…
President Obama’s latest energy tax proposals will likely cost the US another 150,000 jobs.

According to a recent report Obama’s policies will cost tens of thousands of US jobs.

Louisiana State University Endowed Chair of Banking and nationally-renowned economist Dr. Joseph R. Mason estimates that President Obama’s proposed energy tax changes would trigger grave economic consequences. In the newly released “Regional and National Economic Impact of Repealing the Section 199 Tax Deduction and Dual-capacity Tax Credit for Oil and Gas Producers,” Dr. Mason finds the resulting fallout over the next ten years would include initial losses of over 154,000 jobs by the end of 2011, not only in the energy sector but across the whole economy; more than $341 billion in lost U.S. economic output; and in excess of $68 billion in lost wages nationwide.

The call for new taxes on the domestic oil and gas industry is growing louder and louder on Capitol Hill. However, many of these proposals are job killing tax increases that place US companies at a competitive disadvantage to foreign owned companies like BP, undermine US economic recovery, and worst of all, further punish families, communities, and workers in the Gulf region who have safely and responsibly provided America the energy we need to thrive for decades.

Meanwhile, despite what lefties tell you, the US subsidizes the costly green energy sector far more than fossil fuel companies. Dr. Richard Swier at Red County reported that “green energy” subsidies are triple the amount of fossil fuel subsidies.
BERJAYA
Dr. Swier reported on Obama’s job killing policies:

Obama’s actions since taking office have harmed every consumer of energy in America – that is you and me. This current move by President Obama is nothing more than central planning designed to destroy one energy sector to favor another – the redistribution of energy subsidies to favor renewables. This is his administrative fiat in the absence of a cap-and-trade bill. It will result in energy apartheid.

Of course, the fact that Obama continues to kill thousands of American jobs surprises no one really. It’s all part of that hope and change we were promised.

Wikileaks: Iranian Regime Knew About Prison Rapes of Freedom Protesters – Did Nothing

Posted by Jim Hoft on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, 5:07 AM

The evil regime in Tehran not only shot down at freedom protesters from rooftops after the election last year, they knew that the democracy activists were being raped in prison and did nothing.
