She slams media for uneven mocking

(Newser) – Facing ridicule for her comment about “our North Korean allies,” Sarah Palin has accused the media of a double-standard: Why, she asked on Facebook, isn’t President Obama mocked for his gaffes? Remember when he said he’d been to all 57 states? Palin references that and a number of Obama’s other stumbles: “If you can’t remember hearing about them, that’s because for the most part the media didn’t consider them newsworthy.”

“If the media had bothered to actually listen to all of my remarks on Glenn Beck’s radio show, they would have noticed that I refer to South Korea as our ally throughout,” Palin notes. Her defense is pretty reasonable, writes Colby Hall for Mediaite, but she’s mistaken about the media on Obama: He’s taken to task both when he’s “deserving of derision”—as with the 57-state comment—“and sometimes when he isn’t.”

Veteran Arrested for Threatening President

Michael Bowden would 'put Obama against the wall and shoot him'

(NEWSER) - A 78-year-old South Carolina veteran has been arrested after threatening to shoot the president. Michael Stephen Bowden, also a former New York City police officer and fire captain, told a nurse at a Veteran Affairs clinic he "would like to shoot the president then myself." He was arrested after telling another nurse he wanted to kill Obama "because he is not doing enough to help African Americans." Federal agents found 16 guns in his home when they searched it the next day, WYFF reports. More»

(NEWSER) - Sarah Palin managed to slight not one, but two First Ladies in an interview with conservative radio host Laura Ingraham. Asked if Barbara Bush's recent comment that she hopes Palin stays in Alaska shows that the GOP elite wants to "kneecap" her, Palin replied, "I don't think the majority of Americans want to put up with the bluebloods.
