If you asked anyone with half a brain whether or not tattoos were permanent, they would say yes. OF COURSE you CAN remove them, but based on the general perception of tattoos, this is very valid irony.

Nothing is permanent? I refute that! That Wrecking Balm crap removes tattoos. And with great results, too!
It looks like Henna[1] to me. Henna is a non-permanent tatto.

Sorry, but henna doesn’t come with hundreds of needle marks.
I think the idea isn’t that the tattoo is permanent, and therefore creates a contradiction. I think the irony is that most people believe tattoos are permanent, and then think, “Ohay, this is ironic,” but in reality the tattoo is absolutely correct.
This picture on the front page seems to pretty permanent too.
