Catherine trailer is concerned with your well-being

"You've been weird lately." Katherine (with a K) notices that much about protagonist Vincent, at least, in this Catherine trailer (after the break). Whether she understands the context -- that he's being pursued by a mysterious woman (Catherine with a C) and also dreaming of turning into a sheep monster every night -- is unclear.

Afterward, it is revealed that men are dying in their beds, and these men all tended to cheat on their partners in life. Which, again, probably contributes to Vincent's mood. We're really looking forward to the inevitable localization announcement so we can pick out more than every fifth word of this bizarre drama.

@nighttime Yeah, well, I just hope it comes out in the US with original Japanese voices and English subs. I won't come within a thousand miles of it if it has English dubs.

Catherine is being made by the P4 team, and that game had AWESOME English voice actors.

Whoa, no need for that. I personally enjoy things in their original language. I don't mean just Japanese either. German, French, Spanish, it just feels better that way if you know what I mean.

I understand all the words; You aren't missing much that can't be deduced from watching the visuals.

I don't normally do well with horror / thriller games (read: wuss), but I don't think I'll be able to avoid this one.

Sidenote - really great music! I also appreciate the credits at the end of the trailer.

I want to play this game soon.

Its been awhile since I've seen a game that I want as much as this one.

Whether or not this comes out in the U.S., the graphical style makes me hell of excited to see what they do with Persona 5.

There should be RPG gameplay, right?

Great, another game I'll probably get in 2011, along with Bulletstorm, Killzone 3, and Marvel Vs. Capcom 3.

I love watching these trailers. Looks so strange and intriguing.

Funny, but on the Joystiq app... The trailer is missing. I think this might just be the number one weird want for 2011.

Atlus, if you don't bring this game to the US, I'll buy up you're company, find the two most talented guys in it, dangle a carrot in front of their faces so that they make me the world's bestselling game, and then fire them for insubordination. Then I'll dissolve you and laugh all the way to the bank!

@tomernatorII Just because one game is unique and interesting doesn't mean the rest aren't uninspired, rehashed, clones of clones. The Wii has some VERY good games, but that doesn't change the fact most of the games are shovel-ware. This game does look really neat and will mostly likely be a day 1 purchase for me, but as for most other Japanese games, nope.

This game looks just so messed up, twisted, irrational, crazy, ill, strange, bizarre, abnormal, erratic, rare, uncommon, weird, singular. Day one buy for me.

You can get a lot of the meaning just from context, but a new piece of information is that there are people being found dead (the corpse in this video was found by his mother), and all these people are men who cheated on their girlfriends. Then later on in the trailer, Cathrine tells Vincent that if he cheats on her she wont forgive him.

If this keeps the "Catherine" one word name when it's localized, I will...

It'll probably become "Shit Megami Tensei: Catherine". Which is understandable, because, outside of Japan, people aren't all that familiar with the franchise to automatically recognize it.

I wish they would release products as double features: one game, one movie. Not half-one, half-other. Or maybe try using gameplay-based storytelling, if only for once.

Still, the new megaten looks great.

This game is looking to be a mixture of Anime, Heavy Rain and Silent Hill...
