Event Update
[Image: A project by Karen Van Lengen for a site in Santa Clarita, from her online portfolio].A quick event update: Karen Van Lengen, former Dean of Architecture at the University of Virginia and currently William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of Architecture at UVa, will now be speaking at the BLDGBLOG event next week at Storefront for Art and Architecture. Van Lengen, who collaborated with Joel Sanders on the fantastic Mix House project (as featured in The BLDGBLOG Book), will be replacing Sanders, who has to be away on business. You can watch a long interview with Van Lengen on the Charlie Rose Show, speaking about, among other things, Thomas Jefferson, architecture, and campus design.
Van Lengen will kick things off at 3pm, and she's followed by talks from, or live interviews with, musician and writer Jace Clayton, photographer Richard Mosse, architect Mason White, novelist Patrick McGrath, and architect and educator Lebbeus Woods, along with introductory remarks from critic, blogger, and editor of The BLDGBLOG Book, Alan Rapp.
Hope to see you there!
