It's the first of the month and we live in San Francisco
[Image: A partial map of San Francisco's MUNI service].Well, I'm surrounded by boxes, the morning fog has cleared, there's a waning gibbous moon hanging at the end of our street, the Bay Bridge is temporarily closed for seismic retrofitting, I've been sleeping on an air mattress reading Man in the Holocene in an apartment recently vacated by two architects who have moved to Zurich, and, as of not very long ago – mere hours – BLDGBLOG calls itself home in San Francisco.
Expect more posts soon... In the meanwhile, though, don't miss BLDGBLOG's interview with Michael Cook, stop by the billboard house, and take a walk through some underground cities, three posts which really blew up in the last few days.
Anyway, hello from the San Francisco Bay! Peninsular city of buried ships.

For posts older than a few days,
comments have to be moderated;
this takes a few hours. Thanks!

Geoff, it's so exciting to have you across the frickin' street. Let the cultural provocation begin!
Cool. Welcome to the city. :)
Geoff,
welcome! Two things:
1) The word "service" is, a best, with respect to MUNI, charitable.
2) You live in SF now . . . why aren't you at Burning Man?
;-)
see you soon, maybe 9/16 at the DWELL conf.
Cheers,
Matt
Hey, Steve! Nice to be your neighbor, neighbor. And hello, Headhouse - thanks for the note.
Matt, I'll see you in two weeks!
Geoff,
Welcome to the area, and looking forward to meeting you one day. I travel back and forth between design projects in the city and the East Bay and always am amazed by the 25 degree change in temperature.

I am so jealous. I lived in the City for eight years of my life and loved it. I'm in LA now and miss it like mad. Enjoy!
Found you via BoingBoing a while back; love your blog.
Speaking of Burning Man, have you seen this CurrentTV piece about Vertical Camp?

I've been to BM twice, and this looks like seriously luxurious accomodations.
Welcome. You'll like it here.
...and Muni doesn't get enough credit.
Good to have you here ... if you need any tips, tours, or walking routes, let me know: sfalleys.blogspot.com
Keep up the good work!
