RAPPER T.I. IS SENTENCED TO 11 MONTHS

**Photo from Sandrarose.com

BERJAYA
UPDATE: T.I. has until Nov. 1st to report to prison.

From Ajc.com
Atlanta-based rapper T.I. will serve 11 more months in prison for violating the terms of his probation.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, appeared before U.S. District Judge Charles Pannell Jr. at 2 p.m.

He was represented by a team of six attorneys, including Don Samuel, Ed Garland, Steve Sadow, Janice Capek, Kristen Wright and Dwight Thomas.

T.I. was still on probation for federal weapons charges when he was arrested Sept. 1 on drug charges in Los Angeles. He and his wife, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, were taken into custody during a traffic stop in West Hollywood in which deputies said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana from inside the car. They were soon released on bond.

After the arrest, a U.S. probation officer alleged that T.I. committed three violations of his supervised release from prison: possessing ecstasy, testing positive for opiates and associating with a convicted felon. (Source)

Update:

From Ajc.com
Declaring that T.I. "has had about the limit of second chances," an angry federal judge on Friday sentenced the rapper and movie actor to 11 more months in prison for violating his probation.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., asked the court for leniency.

"I screwed up," said the rapper, wearing a three-piece gray suit. "I screwed up bigtime, and I'm sorry. I'm truly and sincerely sorry. I don't want and I don't need to use drugs anymore. I want them out of my life."

But U.S. District Court Judge Charles Pannell Jr. was unmoved. Pannell noted that he had tried an extraordinary sentence with Harris, who was initially convicted of weaspons charges, by permitting him to stay out of prison while performing 1,000 hours of community service. The service consisted largely of visits with schoolchildren to speak out against violence, gangs and drugs.

"I think Mr. Harris had had about the limit of second chances," Pannell said. "The worst thing is this case was an experiment."

Pannell said he had hoped the idea would work and could be adapted for use in other cases. But then he looked at Harris and said:

"You certainly dumped a lot of smut on the whole experiment." (Source)

FORMER EMPLOYEE FILES SEXUAL HARASSMENT LAWSUIT AGAINST NEW BIRTH

BERJAYA

From Ajc.com
New Birth Missionary Baptist Church is the focus of another lawsuit, this one by a former employee who alleges she was the victim of sexual harassment, sexual discrimination and retaliation.

Tama Colson, who is described in the lawsuit as a married resident of Georgia, claims a male supervisor showed her photographs of a male sex organ on a cellphone. In a lawsuit filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Atlanta, Colson alleges she was harassed, demoted and later discharged from the Lithonia church after she complained.

Barbara Marschalk, an attorney who represents New Birth said it was "too premature for us to comment now."

Colson, who also attended New Birth with her family, said in the suit that she was hired by the church in August 1998 as an audio engineer and was eventually promoted to duplication manager, overseeing the reproduction of broadcasts of New Birth services.

The lawsuit alleges that in October 2009, a male supervisor in the church's television department showed her a picture of a sex organ on his cellphone. Colson said she was "horrified" and asked the supervisor "what the hell is your problem." She said he grinned and walked away.

The lawsuit claims the church was aware of previous incidents between the supervisor and female employees and congregants but never took corrective action.

In May 2010, the suit alleges, Colson learned that her department was going to be placed under the control of the television department, where the male supervisor worked. She asked to be transferred out of that department or warned that she would resign. A church elder convinced her to stay, but in June she found out that the man would be her boss. She said he began a "campaign of torment" against her, including coming into her office and staring.

She complained and alleges she was later demoted to secretary. Eventually, she claimed, she was discharged from the job.

The suit seeks an unspecified amount in damages. (SOURCE)

WHOOPI AND JOY BEHAR WALK OUT ON BILL O'REILLY

Today on The View, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar walked off staged after a heated exchange with the cocky Bill O'Reilly concerning the building of a mosque near Ground Zero.

Clearly disturbed by the walkout, Barbara Walters reprimanded the dynamic duo for their lack of professionalism.

The women soon returned to the couch once Mr. O'Reilly apologized for his negative statements about Muslims.

Isn't this show called The View? Should all guests have the same view as Walkout Whoopi or Joking Joy? Blank stare.

PROPHECY OF THE CENTURY

Pastor Manning: “We are going to have to go to God and ask the Lord, “Well, you know Lord, you know I mean, why can’t I have a major law firm? And you might hear God say something like, “Well, you know if your customers that are Black will pay you and would respect you and would pay on time; or if these professional business people paying their business entertainment attorneys 10% of their gross making them instant millionaires. If you just got a couple of those Black folks making all that money, you would have a major firm as well. So rather than arguing with those white men who are making less money than some white freelance attorney representing Jay-Z or representing Snoop Doggie. We have to look at this carefully.“

INSPIRATION

Eagles are not meant to fly with pigeons and chickens because their flying altitude is too low. Today, I take my rightful place as an Eagle and am leaving the pigeons and chickens behind. I apologize to God and myself for acting like a pigeon and chicken when I was born to be an Eagle. Selah.
