Speaking of speaking out...

Where was the chorus of boos from the right and from Fox News when Helen Thomas got fired for speaking her mind? The only differences between her and Juan Williams is that she spoke out against Israel's treatment of the Palestinians and she didn't work for Fox.

If it was okay for the AP to fire Helen for what she said, then it's okay for NPR to fire Uncle Juan for what he said.

Case closed.

I know you're asking yourself, "Why should I boycott those companies Dr. Monkey? What do they have in common?"

The thing they have in common is they are paying for air time on television show of this hate monger:
The thing about right wing hate media is that it drives some of it's crazier adherents to kill. O'Reilly is guilty of inciting murder just as sure as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. The man who stepped into that Unitarian church in Knoxville who opened fire and killed those people was whipped in to an anti liberal hatred that was fomented by Bill O and his gang of right wing parrots, especially Bernard Goldberg. The man had books by all FOX Noise talking heads in his house and in his would be suicide note he said explicitly that he wanted to kill liberals and if he could he would kill all the people on Bernard Goldberg's list of people who he and O'Reilly thought were harming America.

But did either of them, O'Reilly or Goldberg, apologize for their role in inciting this mainiac to murder? No. Did either of them acknowledge their culpability? Nope. They ignored the story and their roles in it. Then Bill O went on to whip his viewers into a frenzy over Dr. Tiller and once again an unhinged FOX Noise lover and "good Christian" hero took Billy boy's harangues to their logical conclusion and he murdered Dr. Tiller. Now he wants to paint the Holocaust Musuem murderer as a left winger. Well folks, some of us have had enough. I've joined the boycott of companies that advertise on FOX Noise, especially the ones who advertise on Bill O'Reilly's show.

I've been in the market for a window unit air conditioner for a month now. We have central heat and air but our house stays cool through out the day, except for our upstairs bedroom. So instead of turning the air on just to cool one room, I figured we'd leave the main unit off and get a window unit for the bedroom, it's more energy efficent and cheaper in the long run. So I was in Best Buy the other day before Ms. Zipdrive posted about boycotting FOX, I saw a unit I liked, and I was prepared to buy it when Tuesday, the 16th, rolled around. But once I joined the boycott I was not about to fork over $189 to Best Buy. Oh hells to the no. I took my money elsewhere and I bought essentially the same unit for $40 less and none of my money is going to go to FOX Noise or Bill O'Reilly. I am going also to boycott local businesses who advertise on O'Reilly, that means you Spotless Carpet Cleaners, and I'm going to call Best Buy's corporate office to tell them that they lost out on my $189 and that we in the progressive movement are leading a boycott against them.

They have the right to advertise when and where they like, and I have the right not to buy a god damn thing from them and to tell others to do the same as long as they prop up hate mongers and accomplices to murder like Bill O'Reilly. Join the boycott and tell the companies why you're boycotting them, make them pay for their support of the murderous hate mongering fiends.

Good job Bill, Sean, and Michael

They found books by Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Michael savage in the Knoxville church shooters house. Those three and Rush Limbaugh, Pat Robertson, and the rest of the religious right have demonized and attacked liberals and gays for the past 30 years. I'm actually shocked some of their followers didn't do something like shoot a Unitarian church up sooner than this.

And sadly some on the right are dismissing his hatred for liberals as the reason for the shootings. They're even going so far as to say that it smells like a cover up because the guy was out to discredit conservatives by killing people in a gay friendly church. They have no shame and they will accept no blame for their hate speech and hatred of other Americans.

I'll be willing to bet that there is no mention of the shooters reading list on FOX news and they'll be blaming the liberal media for the whole mess. After all, that's what conservatives do best, blame others for what they have wrought.
